Martín Zubimendi

I assume they've gone for him coz Partey is going and Merino is invisible, Jorginhino is jorginho. A midfield 3 of rice, zubamendi and odegaard ain't awful

Yes, absolutely. Anyone who thinks a 17/18 Yr old CB is going to be soon (or he's currently even close) an upgrade on our current CB's is on crack. Same with the bloke from Lens....who 99.9% of people had to Google to find out who he is (the 0.1% who had heard of him play 'xbox fifa')
....and suddenly, someone who no one took any notice of in Germany, is a guaranteed upgrade on Foden/Savinho/Doku/Bernado ;)
Zubamendi is a better signing by miles...unless one of our 3 surprise everybody.
I appreciate the consistency. I suppose i have a more optimistic view of our business and Arsenal's.

I think our biggest problem is age. And we've drastically helped that issue. Even if our most glaring lost position hasn't been acquired yet. Same with Arsenal. I think Zubi is a smart move even if they also need a striker.

Pay well over the odds because another club want him?

A genius business strategy, sounds very familiar.

Only if it’s for a player we actually need and want, and would improve us a lot, not simply because of a rival bidder.

But if we’d bid £180m for Bellingham or £130m for Rice, plus offered the wages to change their minds, then we’d be a far better side with one of them in it than we are right now.

Teams only get better by signing the best players and those cost a lot. If you’re cheapskate and a rival gets them then we end up with seasons like this one.

Sign a player by offering them more money. That always works out well....

These are good points, I’m not really sure what the strategy is for this season. It’s clear and obvious that what we really need is upgrades in central midfield with pace and energy. And two quick full backs. A right back at the very least. Yet we don’t seem to be addressing it, unless it’ll be more square pegs in round holes, which is tough for any player never mind a youngster in a new league.

Who says Arreta is even there next year, captain black is fucking useless
Arteta will be hear next season. Most of his haters are youtube loud mouths and newspapers looking to stir up some shit. Im tell you know, there is no pathway to Arteta getting the sack despite what what people like to think.

Attests trying to get a band of Sociedad back together.. Merino Zubimemdi Odegaard Isak as the striker?

You were actively looking to get rid of him after his first season. There is some concern about the amount spent and what he has delivered. Depends on the rest of the season, but I wouldn’t be too sure he will be there next season. It’s not just the fans who have concerns!

One of Arsenal, Chelsea, or Manchester City are going to miss out on CL football. If it's Arsenal, there is your pathway to Arteta losing his job.

Arsenal have injury problems with Saka and Jesus. Welcome to Manchester City's world. That's just bad luck but all the same very difficult to deal with. Some injuries you can deal with, but some players are critical to a side.

Don’t rule out a Forest collapse!!

Don't think they will collapse as such. But think they will run out of steam eventually and struggle to mauntain the wave they have been riding.

Unfortunately, as I do like seeing other teams pushing for top 4 and would rather them than Utd Spurs or Chelsea (assuming we are in there ourselves).

Agreed but if it’s them or us then there’s no question….
