Like I said, us wanting to find the best possible deal and long term solutions has never previously been at the expense of competing for trophies right away, evident by our unprecedented success. I think it would be moronic to start now.

If the club can magic up the perfect midfielder, at the right age and with the right experience and buy them for the right price I'm sure they will - just for you.

Moose is Frankfurt's highly prized, under contract player. They're evidently prepared to sell, but at a price which suits them which is their right.

The ball's now in City's Court to agree a price which we're happy to pay. The player reportedly wants City & only City which is a positive, but Frankfurt hold the upper hand. If this transfer happens, it'll take as long as it takes.

I have zero issue with their stance. We did the exact same with Alvarez, and that is a benchmark for a price. Any difference in 'prestige' between the two players being offset by the fact it is the January window.

If we don't it will be because people have interfered who have no business interfering. Getting a real Napoli feel about Frankfurt.

I think the Marmoush deal is probably nearly there, it's probably just agreeing the total cost or specific payment terms/add-ons and we'll probably be willing to take our time on those elements to get the best possible deal if we're confident he wants to come and we'll reach an agreement. We've got plenty of cash to spend but it doesn't mean we will stop negotiating as hard as possible to make things happen. It would be nice to bring him in sooner rather than later given the tough fixtures we have coming up in the league, but the club won't be panicking as much as some of our fans!

No player is perfect, but any idea that there is not a single midfielder in the world we could sign this January window that could help out our midfield short term without being an awful signing long term is laughable. Just my opinion :)

So £4-5m out? Just bloody pay it!
No 4-5m out including add ons. They want (according to this source) £59 + add ons, so let's assume £15m.
That makes us £20m out.
Purple panel says we are done at £45m + add ons and the medical is booked. Who knows?

It seriously messes' up their season, so if he does sign this month it will be at a premium and as you quite rightly say, it's a very fair stance they are taking.

You are right here. It’s not 4/5 probably more
