Obviously we are speculating but until the problem is addressed or someone is close to signing you can’t really argue that anything has been done. It’s not like this hole has appeared in the last two weeks, it’s been there since the end of September.

Actually, i debated between Ake and Gvardiol. O'Reilly' is really the inverted left back. So he is playing the role Rixo plays out of the RB. But with more size, speed and strength.

I dont think John or Akanji can cope that well in midfield. I know they were good for about a month and a half in the treble year, but they ve both sucked at it ever since.

I was thinking more players we are strongly linked with this window ready to go from next month. Thought about one of Khusonov and Reis but I know nothing about them really and wouldn’t know how ready they are. Not sure if any of Bobb, Savinho, O’Reilly are disciplined enough defensively to drop into a back 4 out of possession.
Really I was just wondering about shape and using Marmoush in a 2 with Haaland more than having any strong view o which other players though.

Nothing has happened in the 2 weeks really? Thought 2 players were waiting for Visas before medicals, and we were in negotiations for a third with possibly other stuff we don’t know happening too. So apart from that yes nothings happened in 2 weeks.

Less attack minded than some of the others and can swap it to a 1-2 up front or swap KDB & Foden. I was thinking of a lineup Pep may feasibly use - making use of the attacking strength of Nunes/Josko while mitigating their weakness. Fuck knows if it would be effective

You can call it flapping but after an absolute ball bag of a summer window where we signed Gundogan instead of a primary midfield target I feel concern is warranted. All our midfield signings since Rodri have been underwhelming.

Gundogan, Nunes, Kovacic, Phillips, not one of those has been an improvement on what we already had at the club. That’s not good enough and we are paying for it now watching our midfield get overrun week in week out.

I'll predict that in the last couple of days in January , Douglas Luiz will be signed on loan and Ederson from Atalanta will join . Won't happen until close to the last day.

Well yeah because those two teams are in the CL and won't want to sell until those games are done.

Not sure Ederson will join anyway, Atalanta are doing well.
Why would they sell unless it's stupid money?...and if we are willing to pay their price, wouldn't he be here already?

I'm intrigued about Douglas Luiz, i think he'd do well for us.

I'm not sure about the loan deal though. We would have to want an option to buy, not an obligation, so unless that gets sorted, if we really wanted him, we might aswell just buy him already!

midfield targets need to come forward.a DM is needed but if he has to put up around him with a burnt out Bernardo and 4 players front of him not pressing and tracking back that is a recipe for some more shit.

I am still uneasy how we targeted Bellingham and Rice summer of 2023, probably thinking what kind of role they will do in the team and then missing out on Paqueta opting for a very different Nunes and then bringing Gundo back not as a detailed plan but just because Barca new manager and Laporta decided they dont give a shit about him anymore otherwise he wouldnt have asked to be back here would he?

It Is understandable every one questioning. We have had 4 months where we should have been talking to agents, to find out if they are up for a move, we should know every vulnerable team, and we should know who we want, ie 2 DM`s, we should have had them ready for the !st. What we have is 3 probables with limited need, all of which looks like, moving our summer targets forward due to other clubs coming in for them. not saying they are not good players, just they are not the ones, that are going to get us into the CL places.
We need two DM`s as the O Reilly experiment failed, it failed when Pep brought Gundogan on.
