This underlines two things. How badly advised Truss has been and what a stupid **** she is.

Never send a cease and desist letter unless you are highly confident of the ground you are standing on, and where you are prepared to follow up on the threat contained therein.

All this letter will serve to do is shine a light on this matter and (quite rightly) embolden people in the Labour Party making the claims, which leaves the daft **** with two choices: follow up on the threat (which will end in humiliation) or not (which will itself invite further ridicule).

It is still unbelievable to me that this dreadful, stupid, idiotic **** attained the office that she did - and all this latest development serves to do is underline her complete unsuitability for any public office, or any job whatsoever for that matter.

Yet another person who believes in free speech - but not all free speech.

If you genuinely believe in free speech you should never make use of the slander/libel laws because what is being said is part of free speech.

To claim that she wrecked the economy is a legitimate opinion. And whether it's true or not depends on how you judge 'wrecking the economy'. Some people might think their mortgages going up by hundreds of pounds a month amounts to just that.

BTW, I believe free speech should be limited, but having a political opinion about national events is entirely legitimate. It's no different to my belief that Thatcher fucked the country with her policies. (Other people would disagree, and that's legitimate too.)

She could help herself, and the rest of us, by accepting she was an aberration, and promoted considerably beyond her abilities by dint of happenstance and an absurd, anachronistic political process, and simply disappear to enjoy the prime ministerial pension she clearly feels entitled to.

Taking politics out of the equation, she is an embarrassment for us as a nation. Turning up at the cenotaph and pontificating in the media about stuff she’s just not qualified to speak about.

Totally agree but just going off her appearance she looks in a bad way, I would not be surprised if she is having some sort of breakdown.
