Erling Haaland signs 9.5 year new contract!

Has anybody moaned about this yet?
Go on then , what if he gets a serious injury next week , we will be paying for next 9 years for someone who isn't fit

But really I am delighted he is staying, just wish I spoke Spanish to read the press over in Spain (who have repeatedly lied about precontracts and the like)

we need to create for him. create 3-4 chances for him per match and he will score every game. we need to stop having full 90 minutes where he is not played in once and we had quite some of those games this season.

They seem obsessed with his wages and why is he getting so much (How much is Rashford on again?). Anyway this was posted by a member of their mod team :)
This contract is going to make him a billionaire, imo. You're better off looking at the kind of money PSG were throwing at Mbappe and multiplying it by 2.5(?) for the length of the contract. I doubt it's just cash, either
Fairly certain he’s on ”hidden” money and incentives to a level no regular footballer will ever likely see at a regular club. He has nothing to worry about with regards to his peers in 5 years time.
All this whilst wages in Europe appear to finally be coming down.

People really have to remember that City have never lost a De Bryune, Kompany, Silva, Aguero or Rodri, despite the fact we know that these players at every other club would’ve been constantly “admired” by Madrid.
Crystal clear all of them are/have been on way WAY more money that most could even imagine and that their agents have made it known it aint even worth bothering.
WTF does this idiot mean by that? Free oil at the petrol station? Free holidays where the Arabs live? A Harem?

They really are taking it bad, real bad :)

I mean maybe it’s just me and I’m a little fucked up in the head, but for me the genuine worst thing to ever happen to the game is football fans not being able to go home to their families because they were killed by other football fans?

Priorities are a bit fucked for the Chicken grieving gobshites, whoever this is is mimicking what Klipperty said when the CAS decision came in.

We should have sued Klopp IMHO.

Release clause removed till 2029 as well if Madrid wanted him

Big ambition from the club and a real statement of intent to the rest of the league

Did think he looked like a player who wanted out but clearly not, must jsut be frustrated

Hopefully he can use this to pick his head up and start play like the player we know he is, as he's been looking sorry for himself

If he sticks around, he will break Shearers record
Saw a transfermarkt article that did the maths to say, if he continues at the same rate, with the same injury record then he should beat Shearers record by the 29/30 season. So that lines up well haha. Wouldn’t put it past Haaland and his dad to have thought that through.

I believe they call it INSURANCE, and you can carry it on all your contracts in case of career-ending injury. In business, they call it “key man” insurance, but you may have heard of one of the most famous cases…Brian Bosworth, NFL player. Came out of college as a beast and touted as the next big thing. Got a massive deal, got career-ending injury almost immediately. Most of contract was guaranteed, but club had insured him!

Brian Bosworth, a former Seattle Seahawks linebacker, had two insurance policies with Lloyd's of London. In 1993, Bosworth won a $7 million lawsuit against Lloyd's after the insurer refused to pay his claims.

Now that is a statement. Wow. As long as he stays healthy and we bother to actually pass him the ball, that's surely him penciled in as the league's record goalscorer. Shearers record should be his about halfway Into that contract. Wonder how many of those berks that at some point this season have suggested we sell him still think that today after that kind of commitment.

This is bloody fantastic news, and it just goes to show that the hierarchy of the club mean business.

So much for City being a stepping stone to FC Franco.

If Erling stays fit and healthy, he will blow Shearer's record out of the water. And Harry Hotspur's single club record, too.

What a brilliant start to the weekend.

I bet RAWK, sad cafe and most other clubs' fora are in meltdown.

reminds me of that (possible urban myth) story about someone in America buying a box of expensive cigars and insuring them. He then claimed against the policy stating he'd lost them in a series of 'small fires'.
Won the case.
Was then arrested for the 'deliberate arson' of insured property.
Jail time.
