We are going to be stuck with this mess aren’t we? I mean all the press blather re his private life. He has been fantastic for us but it’s falling apart for him here.

while Kyle walker has been amazing over the years I can’t wait for him to leave.
This guy is our club captain and has disappeared while we have been having our worst run in years.
He has been awful on the pitch and an utter disgrace as captain - He has been hiding for months.
That’s without getting into the personal issues that are obviously affecting him and are completely self inflicted
Good riddance
This isn't new for me, liked Walker but didn't think he should have been captain last season and thought he was correctly dropped for the final in the CL. And o was one of those who was happy he was going to leave for Bayern last year.

Why do so many struggle to see when a player is close to being past it? Kyle was there 2 uears ago when Pep wasn't playing him as a sure starter unless we had some speedy left winger to stop.

Walker wasn't showing any signs of decline 2 years ago. Everytime the opposition had a substantial threat on the wing he was a certainty, even when not fully fit and every time, he shut them down. That doesn't happen if he was in decline. He wasn't an automatic starter because in games where they didnt have a speedy threat on the wing because he couldn't do the basics well enough and the other options we had could, he's never been able to do the basics to a high level, it's nothing to do with a decline.

Wrong. He was in decline. He was making more mistakes par game and has become a detriment to our attacking football.

Yes, one of his best qualities, speed was still very good, and when highly motivated against a star player he was excellent. It was against the run of the mill that you noticed the errors and the beginnings of a decline.

Yes, just like Gundo, the signs were there... That's why o was all for him Gundo snd Mahrez all leaving 2 summers ago.

A player in decline but it only shows against the weaker opponents and he continues to pocket the world's best players? Something not adding up there...

because his decline was not solely related to his tackling. Rather, his overall play and decision-making were what were at issue. But are not at issue when he has to mostly stick to some star player like Vini or Mbape.

Against lesser teams, he had to participate in the consistent build-up and cohesion play. Something he had consistently gotten worse at doing.

There has been no decline, he's never, ever been good on the ball, he's always been the worst player in possession for us and he's always made basic errors, let's not pretend otherwise. When we changed to the inverted fullback system, something he couldn't do, he found himself out of the side more often but pep would still bring him in when the opposition had something to worry about. His inclusion in the team has always been about his pace and 1v1 ability, that's only gone this season. he was voted into the team of the year last season.

His decline isn’t just his pace.
He can’t hold a line properly or make a successful pass

Surprised he hasn't left yet.
If he has asked to go abroad, he must have had word from a club.

I’ll choose to remember the good times. Should’ve never stayed after the treble year but it is what it is. Top 5 signing in the Guardiola era
