I don't think that's what he was saying. More the proportion if add-ons.

Alvarez was reported as €75m + €20m add-ons, or (by the rate back then, £64.5m + £17m)

The Marmoush fee has (in one place so far) been rumoured to be €75m + €5m in add-ons, which in today's rate is £63.5m + £4.2m). IF, there is any truth to it, I'm happy to wait and see whatbis announced, as with the Gvardiol fee which ended up lower than claimed in Germany.

Putting aside the attempt at selectiveness and semantics, the underlying point is completely valid imo. The fee is comparable in a loose sense and the expectation should be too, I agree with that. Hopefully the impact is as well.

We don't know how the Marmoush fee is getting split, and we don't know how the Alvarez add-ons are structured

when the add-ons are significant, usually youd find 50% are easily attainable and the other are slightly tricky with maybe 10% unlikely to be reached

The club aren't gonna put add-ons where none of the £17mil just aren't going to be met

In fact only £3mil of that needs to be activated to be more than Marmoush TOTAL fee, sure those have already been met

So it doesnt "Looks like we'll be paying more than we got for Alvarez" does it

It's either the same or less than Alvarez

I know all that, my point was the post (which I already disagreed with) didn't mix up £ and € as you claimed.

It is not however wrong to highlight the fee is almost whatnwe got for Alvarez and is highly comparable.
