We’ll soon coach that out of him. He’ll be as unprolific as Grealish and Bernardo after a season here.
Yawn. Grealish did it for half a season in 23 and his form then fell off a cliff and Bernardo has been brilliant for City until this season where he's been poor. Pep has coached nothing out of these players, it's up to them to preform. His coaching has never affected KDB has it.

I’d hate to live like that. Constant negativity, pessimism and being critical of things.
But he does have a point. Individual brilliance is being sacrificed for a more cohesive team play and while that has been successful in terms of titles won, it hasn't been the best policy for player development, even now Phil seems to have fallen victim to this.

The idea that individual brilliance has to be sacrificed for the good of the team isn't always right, RM and Barca have won numerous titles while at the same time allowing their players maintain their style of play. Adapting to the team is a great idea but you don't have to strip off all the exceptional quality of a player and just turn them into another bland footballer churned out from the conveyor belt of total football

Exactly....Doku has free license to run at people and take them on and he does it....Sane did it likewise...so did Sterling

What people forget about Grealish is that he was overrated by so many before he came here.....he was never a great dribbler of the ball (he is a ball carrier and there is a difference). Greliash doesnt have the skill to beat people and never has had and never will have on a regular basis....unlike the likes of Doku, Sane, Sterling and Marmoush. Blaming Pep for that is just ridiculous. Grealish isnt brave enough, never has been creative and isnt a particularly good crosser of the ball....even Savinho in his short time here so far has moved way ahead of Grealish in all these metrics

One observation. Because of Egypt’s involvement in AFCON 2025, he could miss a considerable chunk of football in December/January next season. If I lay this season’s calendar over the projected tournament dates, he could potentially miss 7 league games, an FA Cup tie, and a CL fixture. The tournament after, 2027, will be in Kenya,Tanzania, and Uganda, but that is expected to be held in June/July, meaning the inconvenience would only be in the coming season.

Still, it’s quite a chunk of football to miss, especially in the most gruelling part of the year, so if he does sign, I expect the club will seek to play him consistently from August onwards.

it happens...nothing we can do about it....Liverpool have to cope with it with Salah....we previously had to cope with it with Yaya.......

We will get by

It's never the big chunk people think, usually 3 or 4 games and teams cope. On the plus side summers off with no euros, and often no world cup.

I think Jack has a lot of ability but whether it is a loss of confidence due to injury or just not being good enough to be in the team when he is fit I don't know but is isn't Pep's coaching.

Yeah. Further dispelling the media myth with Grealish not being allowed to dribble is the fact that most of the time Grealish has been left out over the last 18 months it’s for a bloke who usually dribbles every time he has the ball.

True, but it can have an effect. In 2011-12, I’m pretty sure Toure was away for the duration and in that time we lost to that lot in the FA Cup and then couldn’t beat Liverpool in the League Cup.

We’ll get by, of course, but we’ll also need to have thought of an alternative striking option for that period in case anything should befall Haaland. If the last two seasons have taught us anything, it’s that we need to be thinking belt and braces.

Jack, when picked, just hasn't shown enough to get his place back. Pep said this the other week.

A fair point that I had forgotten about. I think we've made a conscious decision over the years to at least be wary of how many African players we buy because of this. I think we can cope just fine when its 1 or 2, its only when theres 3/4 or more that it then becomes a problem, we'll be okay with just the one as we were with Mahrez.

It has positives and negatives. He’ll be on the beach while everyone else is playing through Euros and will be able to hit that season running while our other big names are recovering.

You’d hope that by this time next year, Savinho/Doku/Bobb would all be a bit more experienced and settled and the team would be able to cope with this…!!
