Just throwing it out there but making Haaland our new captain may turn him into a bigger machine than he already is, and breathe
Haaland isn't Captain material at this stage.

Once he is able to consistently deliver in big games, put the team on his back and push others around him to be better and accountable... maybe, but even then i don't see it and it doesn't need to happen necessarily.

Maybe someday, but not now. He has plenty of time to work on it, now that he’s signed a lifetime contract.
But for NOW:

Marmoush will probably be involved pretty soon, but I think the two defenders will be eased in gradually over the rest of the season.
Think Khusanov may be tried at full back quite early on, just to see if he’s a better option than Nunes.

Reis will probably only get a few minutes here and there unless we get even more injuries.

He'll be in the leadership group soon enough. Walker, gundo and kdb all on their way out, bernardo won't be far behind, dias will be captain, Rodri vice captain then after that, there's not many that will be ahead of Haaland. Stones and Ake probably then Erling.

And the fact that we have zero pace at the back—which Khusanov has plenty of—and that our defenders are softer than marshmallows and more porous than a sieve, makes it even more likely that he’ll get involved much earlier.

You have to hope Foden gets himself involved, academy graduate, city fan, world class.

What is this kid's skill set? Can he possibly play some defensive mid to cover Rodri, or is he a straight on centre back?

He's tall, physical, fast and fearless. But he's too young (turns 21 on 29 Feb - poor lad...) to manage the epicenter of Pep's system.

And, he can't communicate for the language barrier. Playing at the side line might be a better fit for the first minutes. He needs time.

I never thought walker was, not stating this because he is leaving however I thought others were in the running before him.

Look I'm not complaining, because Pep is THE best manager of all time and nobody else could have come close to what he's done as manager of City. But his approach to captaincy is odd. Walker is clearly a shit captain. If we can see it why can't he?

How is it odd?

Walker is currently a poor player, but I don't think his captaincy is the fundamental problem with our play.
We've done well overall under Peps captaincy model. Vinny who I believe was a great captain was still captain under Pelllegrinis worst years.

Surely, he will get announced today? We are playing tomorrow, so it has to be today....

I could absolutely see Pep playing him at right back to start with.
