During Trumps first term inflation was low, energy prices were low, unemployment was low(especially for minorities), growth was decent, the dollar was rather strong, real wages.went up, the poverty level for minorities dropped to all time low levels.
Oh dear.

Are you trying to convince us that TRUMP did those things?

Is this the new joke thread, because it’s funnier than the actual one!

The thing the Cult hasn’t realized is that he has absolutely ZERO use for them now, and that’s exactly what they’re going to get from him…with the possible exception of a nice cool Solo cup full of Kool Aid!
He has been given literal free rein to commit crimes by POTUS…he is LITERALLY above the law…and is going to leverage Article 2 to the hilt.

Expect Executive Actions GALORE, and expect them to be ever more extra-judicial. They stand until challenged in court and, with the courts in his side, he will have virtual carte blanche.

He doesn’t have the power of the purse, but does have the power to move legislatively approved monies around. Expect it!

We are as close to a King as America has been since 1775, and there’s supposedly about half the country and over half the legislators in DC quite happy about it!

There is going to be utter chaos. Its sheer size will obfuscate important things being done that we miss, until they come back to bite us…much like his Cabinet picks!

On the world stage, expect appeasement disguised as strength, which is a Trump specialty. He’s already given Tik Tok back to Xi, and will now cut a deal that will funnel money back to Trump.

He is going to throw off the chains on Crypto, now that he’s got skin in the game, and will cut deals that will enrich himself and those around him. Beware the U.S. Treasury reserves!

Putin is laughing his ass off, now that he has waited out Biden & the West, and has found a great way to use the old stockpiles of dusty old armaments. As we watch the price of oil get bid up, and sanctions lifted, Putin’s personal and country coffers will swell and Trump (& Murica?) will go back to trusting him rather than our National Security apparatus.

Oh wait, he won’t even have to worry about that, as Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian sympathizer, so the news will be the same from both sides!!

Personal lawyer as Deputy AG, Little Marco as Sec of State, RFK Jr running health policy, a drunk philandering Fox News host running our National Defence…what could go wrong?!
Just clarify - SCOTUS said the President couldn't be held criminally responsible for official acts as President, but they didn't say those acts could not be legally challenged (such as any acts that may be unconstitutional). At least, I hope they didn't say that - as otherwise he could by executive order abolish SCOTUS.

All sounds so “just,” with the exception that when a government, with an untold number of top lawyers and the worlds deepest pockets, targets an individual, it can literally bankrupt almost any normal person trying to defend themselves against the most ridiculous targets…as noted.

In this instance, your position is naive and your 115 comparison is ludicrous.

No, your position is corrupt and fascistic. Your excuse that legal bills are expensive so we just should pardon people accused of crimes only seems to apply to people on the Democratic side of politics rather than the numerous cases brought against Republicans. Not to mention the poor working classes who you have suspiciously never argued should be preemptively pardoned in case a corrupt legal process unfairly attacks them.

Which means your opinion is worthless because it's not based on principles but personality. Changing your morals based on who is stood in front of you is cowardice and I'm not going to pretend it has any merit at all in any form of argument.

Uh, maybe I missed it, but where did he say ANY of those things?

And just an observation, but it’s getting pretty tiresome for the self-appointed thread policeman to refer to others as “fascistic” when you’re the ONLY one threatening thread bans — whether it’s in your power to effect them or not.

You obviously missed this reassuring piece from Biden:

"The issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that they engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense."

Nothing to see here. None of those involved committed any crimes honest. It's all because the republicans will weaponise the judiciary - something the democrats would never do obviously.

It he took classified documents away which wasn’t an official act, surely he should be prosecuted for that.

That's like an American saying they'd love to live in the UK but they'll be stabbed and their daughter will be kidnapped by Muslim rape gangs.

Do you think that's a fair reflection of your day to day life in the UK?

The US is one of the richest and most tolerant countries in the world. It isn't Mad Max. Not even Texas.
Statistics say otherwise. Sorry.

I'm one of those old fashioned types who think the legal system isn't corrupt so we should probably just go with what they think. You know, like with the 115 stuff that we're definitely guilty of according to everyone else who have pretty good ideas. People accused should stand trial rather than being cleared without a trial by a powerful political ally. Again, it's an old fashioned opinion now I know but can't shake it personally.
It's not old fashioned. It's rather stupid and ignores the fact that the legal system was damaged by Trump due to federal judge and supreme court member nominations on one side and due undermining institutions like the FBI, court decisions and the system in general. You have to be pretty dumb to not see it.

We've just had 4 years of the democrats wasting time and energy on the witch hunt against trump (which seems to have backfired somewhat), followed by the unedifying spectacle of the partisan pardons of their cronies.
I'm not sure trump bears sole responsibility for damage to the legal system - albeit he was lucky to evade it.
