The reason I always find these cases so upsetting is because of the murder of children. Then, I find it upsetting when politicians seek to gain political capital as a result of the heinous crimes committed. As a result of this, we have normal folk on a football forum making spurious links to radical Islam and immigration, when the murderer was, in fact, a UK citizen from Banks, Lancashire, raised by Christians. This is why the words of those in power, and those seeking it, need to be considered, well chosen, and factual. If not, tensions are raised and whole communities are demonised by those who find it difficult to understand that race and religion do not make someone a terrorist or murderer. They are just a terrorist and a murderer.
