Southport attacker pleads guilty to murdering three girls | Sentenced to 52 years in prison

The evidence suggests otherwise. The reports today say they have found he looked up to Hitler, Gengis Khan and the IRA whilst having some Al-Qaeda handbook too.

That doesn’t suggest he was on a jihad, it suggests he was a lunatic that wanted to murder people. Hence it’s not been deemed terrorist murders.

I’m not sure why it’s so important for him to be labelled a terrorist? He’s a psychopathic lunatic that needs locking up forever.
And that’s just it, the desperate need for some to label a person of colour as a terrorist so it can justify their racist stereotypes.

You haven’t obviously read the official reports on most cases that there is an element of lack of action or cover ups

Which cases are those?

We’ll have to wait until sentencing to find out more but what’s come out today does not read like a cover up at all.

The reason I always find these cases so upsetting is because of the murder of children. Then, I find it upsetting when politicians seek to gain political capital as a result of the heinous crimes committed. As a result of this, we have normal folk on a football forum making spurious links to radical Islam and immigration, when the murderer was, in fact, a UK citizen from Banks, Lancashire, raised by Christians. This is why the words of those in power, and those seeking it, need to be considered, well chosen, and factual. If not, tensions are raised and whole communities are demonised by those who find it difficult to understand that race and religion do not make someone a terrorist or murderer. They are just a terrorist and a murderer.

Yes I mistakenly said he was Welsh.

Jenrick in particular in his haste to spin those horrific crimes has made a complete tit of himself.

There is a lot more to come out. Sounds a bit like a cover up to me when they found terror related evidence at his home within 48 hours but we’re still insisting it wasn’t terror related.

To be completely honest, I find the way some are framing it to be not just insulting to the police and CPS involved but to the victims families too.

Well if it was a cover up it would be one of the worst ones in history given they said they found that evidence, wouldn’t it…?

I find it a huge stretch to think all of the police, CPS and even witnesses involved could all collaborate to such an extent and at the same time be also willing to intentionally mislead all of the victims families as to why this evil heinous man killed their children. It’s beyond absurd to me, in all honesty.

Well hopefully we will get to the truth in about £40m and 6 years time.

We are talking about a terrorist-murdering scum bag that was brainwashed by a terrorist group in his community
We don't really know his motivation AFAICT.

He seems to have become obsessed with several different murderous groups from reports today.

I'm all for ID cards, and even for deporting people with no right to be here.
But I'm not sure either would have prevented this horrific crime. The guy's a fruitloop. Whether legally so or not. There are lots of them about, and many were born here. No normal, well-balanced person of any origin would do a thing like this.
Spot on. Sadly, some people are just wired up so wrong that it makes them capable of carrying out such horrific crimes. Serial killers and mass murderers aren’t confined to just a single race or background.

Are we at the lessons must be learnt stage? It's important to get through this so we can move on to the lessons still haven't been learnt stage.
When are people including parents going to be held responsible for their actions or should I say inaction.
You can guarantee this mentally deranged fucknut raised more red flags than Mr Magoo at Le Mans.

If he pleads guilty to a terrorist offence he is a terrorist, nothing to do with racism.

Speaking to The i Paper, Jonathan Hall, KC, the independent reviewer of terrorist legislation, said of the Rudakubana case: “The question is not whether he has been convicted of a terrorism offence, he obviously has.

“But the question is whether the murder and attempted murder was motivated by terrorism.

“The approach of the CPS [Crown Prosecution Service] appears to have been that there’s not enough evidence to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that the reason he carried out the murder and the attempted murders was to pursue an ideological cause.

“I can’t speak for the CPS, but my interpretation is that the ricin was not used and the al-Qaeda manual was not used for the attack.”

Say we agree he's a terrorist, what practical difference does it make?

He's a fruitloop, either way. The question is, how do you control random fruitloops? There seems to be no claim that he's insane, in a legal sense. If that's right, he could not have been sectioned, as you can't section people judged to be sane.

In my book, he's as mad as a hatter, but I'm neither a medical nor legal professional, so my opinion is as nothing.

You can't preemptively lock up people for being weird, or half of us would be in Strangeways. And only his being locked up would have forestalled this tragedy.
