For me he’s just not at our level, first season here was poor, couldn’t even get on the pitch when we was desperate in that Villa game, we turned to Raz, who delivered a great assist to get us up and running.

2nd season his first 3/4 months shocking. The rest of the team was no better at that point I might add, the teams form picked up and he was part of some great team performances don’t get me wrong but all this it couldn’t have been won without him I don’t believe to be true but is something we will never truly know.

Last season was a shocker again and this season is the same, people talk up his treble season like he was as good as De Bruyne or Rodri or even the likes of Mahrez and Haaland. He wasn’t, played his part in some great team performances but let’s not go overboard. The bar that has been set for him is incredibly low for the levels we are used to. He’s a good footballer I don’t doubt but not our level, stats aside, he just doesn’t pass the eye test for me.

He’d be an excellent squad player to bring on when winning tight games but surely there’s got to be more to his game to warrant some of the plaudits he gets.

Just my opinion but think we had so many great players in good form at the end of the treble season you don’t notice inadequacies in some players but as we’ve let more go and players have got older etc. there’s more pressure on him to step up and he just can’t.

I personally like him, think he’s a great lad and wish him all the best wherever he plays but think the club need to aim higher. Let’s see what type of clubs are in for him if he is available.

this season was supposed to be great for him. missing the Euros, turn that disappointment into a chance to prove himself again, he was sharing instagram content of how hard he is working on getting into shape, training on his own way before pre season started. scoring some goals on empty goals and stuff like that. :)
was certainly better to see than him drinking bottles of vodka in his free time.

I do hope his assist and pen goal vs Salford City is not the last bit of end product he is doing this season for us.

Luckily for Grealish, according to some here, he’s still 22 or 24/25 or something like that and approaching his peak. So this is not about him. I guess Pep must be talking about Phillips, who’s out on loan, since I know Akanji is 29. ;)

I don't think that was targeted at Jack. Personally I think we can only judge Jack in about 3 years from now, he still needs some time.

Yes, I completely agree, this not targeted at Jack and I also agree—he just needs more time. Once he gets there, we’re in for an absolute treat. Honestly, I think you’re being a bit impatient here. Why rush greatness? Let’s give it 4 or 5 years instead of 3. After all, these things take time, and we wouldn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on him, would we? By then, he’ll surely be tearing it up... maybe even scoring and assisting double digits in a season! Patience is key.

Deserves criticism today for coming on with a dreadful barnet :)
He is probably depressed about how well Doku played today. Has Jack ever had a comparable game? I like him but he should be a senior player if he had progressed as expected rather than a bench warmer. He's a distant third after Doku and Savinho and he may fall further behind the likes of Bobb.

Was at the game and I kept an eye on him to see how he would perform. He just looks so disinterested. Mentally gone imo

he is getting grouped with the young ones you bring on when its 4-0 and the ones that can start vs Salford.

he started 6 PL games this season.

he needs to put in brutal amount of work in trainings so Pep has a hard time deciding between him and Doku or him and Savinho. and then back it up in the matches.
as right now its an easy choice for Pep and Marmoush not even here yet.

Can't disagree

I've always been willing him to do well and I think he has ability but it looks like the fire has gone.

Obviously I don't see him every day so i might be wrong, but he doesn't look like a man desperate to fight for his place as a starter anymore.

Maybe he needs a move to a club where he can start regularly and in a preferred position to start enjoying his football again.

Agreed, I am sure he already knows he is surplus to requirements and will be moved on in the summer if not before on loan if we bring in all the players we want.

Is it me or did all this start when Grealishs home was broken into when his family were there and he wasn’t?

That Everton game was only his 6th start out of 18 league games at that point of that season. He was either on the bench and not brought on (3 games), or not in the squad at all (4 games) in a further 7 of those 18.

Obviously that burglary was a horrible thing to happen to him and it would be understandable if it had an effect on him, certainly in the short-term but it had been an inconsistent season for him before then.

With the imminent return of Oscar, Jack has fallen well down the pecking order. Particularly because Marmoush can play out wide as well.

It's actually quite hard to envision a scenario where Jack gets a run of games. As much as I love Jack the personality, it looks like some hard decisions will have to be made at the end of the season.

Must have played a part in it, but his beginning of the end of his career for City for me was when he opted to join up with the England squad after being “injured” and not kicking a ball for weeks with us, I know he withdrew eventually like, after posting himself in a pic with England kit on, but that day proved where his allegiances lied, and it wasn’t with us

Been shite barring a few months in the time he’s been with us, not good enough, shame but things like this happen in football with certain players, time for a parting asap and hopefully get a few quid back from somewhere

Crap signing overall, all that money and wages. No goals for a year, now doesn't look interested ....imagine if that was Raz or Mahrez, the stick he'd get.
