Maybe it’s so the poor bastard don’t get dragged through the courts bankrupting themselves in the process. We know that 15% of USA jails are taken up with innocent people on plea deals because of fear of not been able to afford proper legal teams.

Got a bit snippy when unnecessarily answering shouted questions a bit later. The 'thank you very much' at the end sounded a bit strange.

I was asked a question about Biden’s accomplishments, and I knew they were on the WhiteHouse.gov website. The link was 404!! And, that was within minutes of the inauguration.

And, while Trump is the CIC (**** in Chief), we have to be mindful of the fact that it is the phalanx of people like Steven Miller who are operating these levers of power and changing the landscape of American democracy IN THE SHADOWS!

It’s very much a case of Trump stealing media oxygen with every utterance and public opinion, while Miller et al are eviscerating American democracy as we knew it and installing a generational (at least) shift in DC.

Their job is to DISMANTLE THE STRUCTURE OF WASHINGTON POWER and remake it in Trump’s image, or for the next right wing Dictator-Wannabee.

These are the consequences millions of us railed against, but which many Americans couldn’t see, as they were blinded by “Murica! Fuck yeah!” and “We’re #1” and other such bullshit platitudes that play into their feeble-minded exceptionalism mindset!
 
That sermon by Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde reminded me of the only surviving play script that was actually handwritten by Shakespeare, in which he imagines Sir Thomas More making an impassioned plea for the humane treatment of migrants. It's well-worth a listen.

How long before they start rowing back on gay marriage and the legality of homosexuality? They already have backwards abortion laws in red neck states, they seem to be evolving backwards with their evangelical stance.
