Gundo should be nowhere near the starting 11...neither should rico.

how we pick a midfield I just dont know.....none of them are performing well and all constantly losing the ball, unable to tackle.

if chelsea have anything about them they will beat us.

Legs have all gone. They are getting the run around every week by far inferior technically gifted players.

One thing you need in football at the highest level is desire. They may have the desire in their heads but the legs can't achieve that desire.

I think bernardo can still do a job but is being asked to do a role he cant play. Plus he needs a proper break.

The rest I agree. I’m willing to give kev leeway too but I think it’s more wishful thinking.

Gundo shouldnt be near the squad never mind starting 11. Its not ruined his legacy for me. But it's time to just accept it was a huge mistake to bring him back and an even bigger mistake to keep playing him

I just hope Maresca aint telling his players about high intensity and forcing us to run. I think he wont sit back like Pochettino last season even tho he got a draw as I recall with us missing big chances and lots of them.

their form is also shit in last few games, but giving problems to our midfield is not gonna be hard for any decent squad.

KDB had no energy neither Kovacic tonight so wonder any of these two can start vs a fresh Chelsea. but that leaves Gundo-Bernardo duo? wow...

Agreed.

The thing with Chelsea is they've a really young team and players that can cover ground...That's a massive worry alone.

Unfortunately opposition don't even need to be technically good anymore to beat us, Just out work us (which isn't difficult) that's half the battle.
 
Hard to know who will be injured, or carrying a knock but will play, or are regaining match fitness or just have been ground down by the unbearable weight of time. Regardless, I don't think we can go into these games with a front 4 of Haaland, KDB, Foden & Savinho - good going forward but leave us so so open.
 
I can barely believe I'm saying this but, imho, we desperately need Doku as he's the only one who can cause mayhem and confusion to the opposition. Everyone else is so pedestrian it's untrue.

Pep's persevered with the "old school" boys for far too long and, as we haven't invested in what we need - a fuckin' Rodri replacement - I hold out no hope for the rest of this season, despite the green shoots we all thought we were seeing over the last few games.

We got shown up for what we are in Paris; one paced; past it, or just plain not good enough. They were Premier League and we were Championship. I would exempt only Haaland from this criticism.

Against Chelsea, I'll settle for a point.

We can't cope against poor opposition either, Feyenoord, Sporting Lisbon, Tottenham, Rags, Everton, Brentford...On top of scraping past Leicester away.

Against good teams we are getting completely done just like tonight. We'll struggle to win any of our next 6 games in the Premier League, Some of them could be absolutely disastrous scoreline wise.
 
Pep needs a compete re.think for this.

We dont control games anymore. We are pressed into mistakes far too easily and look devoid of ideas up top against decent opposition.

Edersons passing is irrelevant these days. As we just normally lose it when it's punted out wide or up top. So Ortega gets the nod from me.

Tell Erl to just stay up top and occupy 2 defenders. Get the ball back and quickly break with a ball in behind with Marmoush and O'Reilly supporting.

Still think they will do a job on us whatever team plays.

I dont get our approach in this transfer market....we have gone out and bought defenders (which ok we do need) and an attacker (potentially) that we dont really need...and not got the most important position which is a couple of midfielders.....Nunes Gundo, Rico, Bernardo, Kovacic (to a lesser extent) and Im sorry but also KDB at times against better opposition - they are all finished....People hate to hear it about KDB but he is at times brilliant but at other times a liability and the rest are either finished or just not good enough....these players simply cannot run anymore and sustain it for 90 mins. Grealish although he scored looked completely disinterested.

A sorry indictment of both Nunes and Rico not being good enough - Pep brought on Rico lewis and instead of playing him at right back he put him at left back/inverted midfield, Nunes stayed at right back (where he was getting smashed) and he left Stones on the bench when replacing Dias....also a sorry indictment of where Stones is injury wise.

All the above need to be shifted out along with Ederson who looks like he has checked out.
Other players like foden just cant get into the game - playing out of position again as well stuck out on the right.

Unless we bring in physicality in midfield (players who can run and have the technical ability) we are in trouble.....this next month in the premiership will show us truly where we are...scousers, Arsenal, Newcastle Chelsea and even Brihton then Forest as well - we are still ina fight for top 4 and that rsult at weekend has pulled the wool over peoples eyes to where we truly are.

Simpson PUsey aint good enough

that midfield would get ran through with such ease....KDB cannot tackle to save his life nd Grealish aint interested and cant tackle either. Stones wont last more than 3 games before he injured again
