PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

But how much will it cost us in the long run by missing out on CL next season, and who will want to come, we’ll be fishing in a different pond then.
At least buy 2 fullbacks and 2 midfielders to save this season.
If they are available affordable and good enough then the season might be salvaged. If not it won’t and we will be saddled

Your sarcasm knows no bounds.
We have won 2 of the 7 games we have played so far.
Dismissing teams that are currently ahead of us is plain stupid.
If Southampton were above us 8 games into the league season would you expect us to beat them?

I’m not too worried about missing out. Players will still come. We are now a class outfit. I’m more concerned about the size of the rebuild
It needs to be huge, several players have downed tools and need to be shipped out in the summer. Still new players need to arrive in the summer, going to be busy

I agree.
It’s a slippery slope too.
Miss out on CL next season. Miss our first choice targets in the summer, a few players leave then possibly miss out season after too.

We need legs in the midfield and a left back.
Surely we can as a bare minimum get someone to just do a job in midfield until the end of the season.

Sorry, Tim, but I can't follow you on this. It's the post-match thread about the game we've just played, for opinions on it, right or wrong. And I don't agree with some of the ranting on here, but I never do when we lose, and almost never agree with all of the basking when we win.
It's not the pre-match thread for another game.
Everyone’s entitled to their views as long as they aren’t abusive (so I’ve read). I’m all for constructive criticism of tonight’s match.

We can’t escape the importance of next week’s game though.

It was like Brentford on steroids, outplayed a bit today, but a little bit of luck and end up 2-0 to the good, however zero game management. At 2-1 they were pumped up and we were spent, and Devon Loch was relieved to see City have a worse gelding collapse.

To see players like Walker, Stones, Gundog, Silva, Ederson, KDB head from elite superstars to relative medocrity at this level in the same season has been painful but should never undermine the absolute pleasure they have ALL given over the best part of a decade.

Todays matchday, postmatch abuse to them and particularly some less gifted replacements is not the old city way but a sign of the toxic times on soc media generally.

The Chelsea game will be fascinating some new blood and and generous initial applause for Cole Palmer before the xxxxer bags a hat trick!

One thing we really haven’t had over the last 9 years is time to work things out in practice. I think more time off can help the new guys get adjusted.
On the flip side though more games means they have more chance to bed in on the pitch and give them game time.

We’re not winning the CL this season even if we qualify, you wouldn’t want to risk the FA cup as it’s more winnable this season than the CL and with how precarious top 4 is you wouldn’t want to take any risks there.

So possibly the extra 2 games would allow us to give the new guys minutes and maybe try a different setup.
