The big mistake was Nunes on the first PSG goal diving in, which totally exposed our right side. That first goal for them was so important. He does not do the basics and makes crucial mistakes at key moments.At 2-0 your first duty is to defend and not to expose yourself to PSG's pace in transition. Some players understand their role in key game situations, others make the same mistakes and do not learn from their errors.It is the difference between a top player and an also ran. I expect him to be dropped for the next game as these sort of mistakes are not acceptable at the top level. If we had not conceded so early after our goals, there would at least have been a chan̈ce of getting a crucial draw.

He's fucking shite, makes me laugh during the match day thread when people say he's having a good game, best player etc.

Yes he does a few decent things but makes numerous errors with the basics.
Many of his simple passes when we are keeping the ball and trying to build are hit behind the player, the playing out invariably goes wrong when he has it.

He got stitched up big time for that goal tonight Fucking awful and my heart sinks when I see his name in a back 4, even on the team sheet.

I really hoped he'd be gone this window, never going to be good enough unless we drop of a cliff.

I loved the moment when gundo was looking for someone to pass to and Lewis who was supposed to be the LB literally stood in front of him near the center of the field and he couldn’t pass to no one because of that.

He has a midfielders mentality not a full back's. Midfielders try to intercept passes whereas a full back would have let him receive the ball and then tackled him or even kicked him into the stands.

It's a tough one having a go at Nunes for not getting his right back role figured. If we put any other midfielder in that position it would be a bigger mess. I seem to remember Ferna being destroyed at right back. It's on Pep and only Pep for choosing to play him there

This is Pep’s biggest ever challenge, can he rebuild this team? I’ll be honest , i doubt it , we just won’t see another dominance like we have just witnessed , I’d take Enrique tomorrow as manager , fast , explosive , dynamic football , has to be our next manager. I just hope Pep isn’t staying here for sentimental reasons, let’s be honest here , this team is finished.

Like I say.. the code of conduct doesn’t seem to apply when used on Nunes, Doku, Gvardi, or more recently an aging Gundo or Kev. All of which are far, far more talented players. Some are/have been on a different planet to Rico.

It feels like you aren’t allowed to slate a player who stands out like a sore thumb just because he’s come through the system.

I don't think abuse of any player is acceptable. I call it out often when i see it.

Nothing wrong with criticism though.

No, I want us to put up a decent fight, not to go out in the preliminaries. A right shambles of an attempt that would be. Show some fight/balls or whatever you want to call it, a little bit of what PSG had out there tonight will do.

We have done in the very recent past.

We're stuggling with injuries. If a teams best player (the best player in the world at that) is out of the season then they will suffer.

We also have our two best defenders, Dias and Stones, who have been injured and hardly play.

It's also a season too far for some players. Which leaves some players exposed and looking not good enough.

Just have to accept it, hope we finish in the top 4 and go again next season.

I just think we can't get angry given what these group of players have done for this club.

I just watched the PSG-City match on replay - utterly speechless with what I saw. Genuinely not trying to be cute here but Im moved to comment as I was gobsmacked, I just couldn't believe what I saw, that wasn't a City team and it seemed they were just trying to counter instead of controlling midfield like they usually try to do.

The good news is I'm sure they can't be as bad again, surely someone at the club is going to give them a rocket.

It’s a slippery slope too.
Miss out on CL next season. Miss our first choice targets in the summer, a few players leave then possibly miss out season after too.

We need legs in the midfield and a left back.
Surely we can as a bare minimum get someone to just do a job in midfield until the end of the season.

Pep's revelation that he didn't want any signings in the summer is strange. Madrid just sign players to antagonise dangerous opponents, something we used to do. Now we sign fringe players nobody has ever heard of for 40 million. I suppose winning 4 PL titles on the bounce allows some complacency to set in. But now trixi bollocks and his gang need to pull a few rabbits out of the hat else we'll be competing with United not Arsenal and Liverpool.
