I think it's time to put the old guard out to pasture and concentrate on promoting our youth lads. They can't do any worse.

All a team has to do is press like mad. Smother us when we have the ball in our own half. They know we aren't going to lump it forward. Or sit back and pounce 30 yards from goal and jog past our midfield who will be ambling around like they walking the dog.

I can stomach not winning trophies every season. But to see how far we've fallen this is unfathomable.

when i watch City is see a team with no energy, no organisation, predictable and boring and that is on Guardiola. I don't mind nor do i expect to win stuff YoY but i do expect to be competative. Ig Guardiola cant or wont change then he is the problem and the club needs to male a decision

At the very least he needs to make the team harder to beat but he is offering no alternative just the same old crap.

The number of points we have dropped from a winning position is ridicolous and Guardiola inability to change this is is either arrogant or incompetent.
 
Lots of hate tonight for nunes, a left sided midfielder playing right back making a midfielders mistake, and not a mention on here for gvardiols clearance off the line, who i thought had a good game ...
The midfield of kova silva and kdb gets swamped by any young agressive team like PSG, some legs in that midfield would give us a chance but if you concede that many chances defenders will crumble, especially young kids like lewis and gvardiol psg should of had 6 or 7 .
Pep looks ruined and this result is on him but the season has to be on whoever has let the squad stagnate for 2 years.
i read the other day City are 11th in net spend over the last 5 years, add into that we have wasted 50m on phillips and paid 50m for nunes and 100m on grealish who are squad players at best it has been a piss poor transfer policy of late.

I've been Pep's biggest cheer leader but - after the way he's persevered with Gundo, amongst others - not anymore. It's criminal seeing us fall like we are doing. Gundo is always the 1st/only sub to come on for Kova; Gundo shouldn't be in the fuckin' squad against any half-decent team - great against the might of Ipswich, of course - they were absolutely shit (I was there). Can this be denied? I'm 66 and if Pep had brought me on tonight, I'd have given the team the same mobility as Gundo.

What was the point of the Stones substitution at that exact time tonight? We had a set-piece to defend, and his failure to head the ball immediately after coming on resulted in Ederson's shit goalkeeping - getting beaten at his near post - again. Amateur management; amateur defending; amateur goalkeeping. Piss poor.

Rinse and repeat for the whole of the season?

Has anyone noticed the emperor's new clothes?

Only City could do this to me; from the highs to the lows! Still, it's Paris and not York away..... yet.

Gundogan and KDB shouldn't play in these games but it's very hard to drop them without it effecting morale. they are the main men.

At last though we have started to rebuild. I think the past has caught up with us this season.

The song that defined City last season was about our defenders. None of them play any more. We won't be successful until we fix that but we have made a start.

We can still finish in the top 4, and win the FA Cup. We will be back again next season.
 
PSG's intensity was too much for us. They went man for man all over the pitch and it has to be said that everyone one if them were hungrier than our plays or just to good or to fast. We don't just need fast physical players in midfield, we need QUALITY fast physical players. We have not addressed that need in this window yet.

Your last two sentences look deeply optimistic!!!

CL is the elite tournament with best teams and we have been found out in almost all games except Bratislava lol.

the speed of some teams playing and by that putting opponents under tremendous pressure like Liverpool, Barca, Atletico, Leverkusen is about two levels above that PSG shown us and we couldnt handle PSG either.

this is what costing Arsenal too, Arteta tried to be more safety first, strong defence, dark arts, rather than crazy amount of pressing and running.

for Pep its all about the control of the ball, but no way to control it with our fitness and old players when pressed off the ball and turned over on repeat. add in the mediocre recruitment of not good enough players replacing high performers.

losing possession upfront he used to go crazy at a player for that. Sterling, Mahrez were all bolloxed for that. these days we lose balls everywhere not just upfront and not even tracking back after it.

the ball Kovacic lost trying to dribble out from deep and concede from it after tonight. many more examples across the whole pitch. but what we do out possession is even worse.

we need to evolve from slowing down over last season. somehow we won the title last season but our play wasnt as great overall.

young blood needed, high energy needed, top on the ball quality needed but most of all mentality to work just as hard as the opponent out of possession as thats gone big time. and that even can cost us CL next season which can cost us targets to rebuild.

I agree with all of this. Gone are the days we recovered the ball within seconds of losing it. It takes effort and fitness, quality and desire. That is all lacking now.

Tough tackling players all around the pitch, would have helped tonight!!!

Too many non tackles, half hearted tackles and people being forced off the ball too often!!!

And not just midfielders!!!

The big lad upfront, needs to get involved more actively and physically!!! :0(
 
Sat in a boozer surrounded by rags and scousers all French for the night wankers, I could deal with the loss but the manner of the loss was a hard pill to swallow at 2-0 up I had little faith in the way we were playing It felt like we were in danger and sadly my feeling was prove right ,gundog coming on was 100 per cent we were losing this game ,gutted does not even begin to describe how I feel we are sadly on the decline ,we will come back no doubt about it .but but this season is done .Have faith in Pep he is the best in the business .
