Meant to include Gundo, I think Kev does 1 more year.KDB and Gundo are absolute nailed on goners in the summer too.

I just think we'll get an offer for him and he's not had a good year.Agree, unsure on Grealish, partly because take out Carson Walker, maybe Stones or Ake and we are low on homegrown so would need to replace Grealish with a homegrown player. Not sure of anyone for that.
I never mentioned Baleba and agree that it should be a collective decision. However, my point is that we need to break away from the idea that we can rely entirely on one linchpin in midfield and that includes Rodri. Even when he comes back, the direction we are headed in as a team, with attack and defence, is going to demand greater mobility up and down the park, combined with technique. That doesn't change my point. You want Txiki to go and buy Baleba over the top of Pep and just go well I've bought you this big lad for midfield who can run so get him involved?
Kev will survive if he is surrounded by good playersMeant to include Gundo, I think Kev does 1 more year.
Yes, just thinking the 4 homegrown we would go with, Maybe Stones and Ake stay so we’d need 2 more, maybe a Carson / Richard Wright sort of 3rd keeper for 1 unless we don’t fill the squad.I think we'll get an offer for him.
Savinho, Doku, Foden and Bobb will cover the wings.
depends who they see long term from off the B/Club list as well, we're gonna have more than 4 there soon enoughYes, just thinking the 4 homegrown we would go with, Maybe Stones and Ake stay so we’d need 2 more, maybe a Carson / Richard Wright sort of 3rd keeper for 1 unless we don’t fill the squad.
Great post.Oh dear. I think the club, manager & players know the problem but now - more than ever - need our support. HUGE support.
It’s easy when we’re breaking records but more important in times like this. Criticism is very easy. Solutions very difficult
If they have release clauses they are for saleWhich bit of the players we want aren’t for sale in January ate you not understanding ?
Think we’re doing that this January & will continue in summerMoney solves everything.
Time for a monumental fuck off to the red cartel and sniping media whores. We can either buy better players and get out of this rut, or fuck around worrying what dickheads like Masters and Tebas say and end up mid-table.
They would be more productive in the middle and he needs to prove himself on a consistent basis. If Grealish were to leave, we would need someone else for the wing.I just think we'll get an offer for him and he's not had a good year.
Savinho, Doku, Foden and Bobb will cover the wings.
Zubimendi has one he clearly isn’t willing to trigger.Who said it was new,or we dhouldn’t have acted last summer, but we are were we are and a quick fix just might not be possible . The club are now doing the right thing accept it or don’t but at least understand the longer term thinking behind it.If they have release clauses they are for sale
If they arent for sale in January we should
A. Have bought them summer
B. They can't be bought and therefore are a waste of time or
C. They can be bought so we just gotta overpay for being shit and not getting it done in the summer
This isn't a new problem, dunno why you think it is, that's just incredibly naive
You don't just get an injury and then start securing after an injury, securing is ongoing and we would have a presumably large range of targets, whether potential first teamers, future first teamers, youth prospects or bargain buys
That is the bullshit we have been hearing for years, and it is bullshit, there are a lot of reasons why we have not bought in January, but that is not one of them. January represents a market where clubs need money to push for promotion, some need money to escape relegation, and others need it for FFP rules. Knowing and targeting these clubs players is where we have failed, repetitively going for experience, got our success but it also caused this downfall.Which bit of the players we want aren’t for sale in January ate you not understanding ?
In reference to Lewis and Nunes I think the former may have to settle for a bit of a versatility role in which he could be very useful at times. I don't feel Nunes is going to cut it here to any great degree. In order to think who we need to buy, we need to think who will from the current squad will be in the starting line up in August. I'm going to avoid putting square pegs in round holes, unlike the manager;)
GK
RB Khusanov Dias LB
Rodri CM
Foden
Savinho Haaland Marmoush
Plus Bobb, Doku, Kovacic, Nuñes Reis Gvardiol Ortega O'Reilly Lewis Grealish Akanji
In the case of Lewis and Nuñes we need to find positions for them that are not the back 4. In Jack's case, he's still young enough. It's a case of whether he's motivated enough to be a squad player
Even before typing like many know, we need fullbacks and a world class CM. We dominated football the last decade because the 3 guys in the middle were a combination of the following
Yaya, David, Dinho, Rodri, KdB, Bernardo, Rodri.
We still have Rodri and now is Foden's moment. We don't need a Luiz in there, we need someone of the standard of the past heroes.
Players who should be allowed to leave gracefully and with our immense gratitude.
Stones, Ake, Gundo, Kevin, Eddie, Bernardo
Bernie is a conundrum. Not as old or injury prone as the others but he has run himself into the ground for the cause. If he wants to stay and can get back his zip then we'd be stupid to let him go.
Rico will be a bench utility player as long as he wants to be I expect. Handy to have around until he wants to go for the club.In reference to Lewis and Nunes I think the former may have to settle for a bit of a versatility role in which he could be very useful at times. I don't feel Nunes is going to cut it here to any great degree.
That is almost definite, a 30 year old coming back off a career threatening injury , is not going to be able to play the single pivot.I never mentioned Baleba and agree that it should be a collective decision. However, my point is that we need to break away from the idea that we can rely entirely on one linchpin in midfield and that includes Rodri. He's 28, mate. That is almost definite, a 30 year old coming back off a career threatening injury , is not going to be able to play the single pivot.
Agree. No we should get players we do want, and we should have identified them given our needs and that list should've been ready, and reguarly updated, seasons ago
All good saying wait for summer but we're in our 3rd summer now of having this same question.... so clearly it's not a priority for some reason
Now that's silly
Nonsense. We should all understand we made a mistake last summer. If you cant see why January is difficult thats on you. That is the bullshit we have been hearing for years, and it is bullshit, there are a lot of reasons why we have not bought in January, but that is not one of them. no one should be playing a single pivot imo. Every system we've tried with it last few years has sucked and we've ended up inverting or boxing into a double anyway. (personal gripe that though)That is almost definite, a 30 year old coming back off a career threatening injury , is not going to be able to play the single pivot.
