Southport attacker pleads guilty to murdering three girls | Sentenced to 52 years in prison

You haven’t answered the question. Your definition or the legal definition?
I thought I had sorry. I thought perception meant how a person sees things personally so it is obviously personally. The legal definition may have flaws, so they are going to look at it. I assume on the basis he slipped through the net on 3 occasions

"Cardiff-born Rudakubana, now of Banks, Lancashire, further pleaded guilty to possessing a knife on the date of the killings, which he bought on Amazon, production of a biological toxin, ricin, on or before July 29, and possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism. The terrorism offence relates to a PDF file entitled Military Studies In The Jihad Against The Tyrants, The Al Qaeda Training Manual, which he is said to have possessed between August 29 2021 and July 30 2024."

Sounds a bit terroristey to me but hey I'm no lawyer.

If he can’t be given a whole life term and 27 years is the likely term why can’t they be three consecutive terms of 27 years?

Arguing over the minutia, as I believe you are doing, is treating this subject and the horror of what has transpired less seriously than it should be. I would be grateful, personally, if you could drop this particular argument as it is a matter of law, and not a matter of humanity, empathy, or grief. Changes in the law may follow.
Just your opinion which you are entitled to. I have agreed not to take make it personal. I am as annoyed as the next person as to how this was allowed to happen. Some fortunately very few are rotten to the core and if we have to lower some sort of bar to raise the danger alarm then I think every one would agree it will be a price worth paying.

It is my opinion, yes. And I respect that our opinions differ.

God knows mate. These sentences always seem to run concurrently which I presume is down to the law, but I find it frustrating in such serious cases. It's at times like this that I wish we had the American system - not saying their justice system is perfect by the way - where they give out sentences so long that even if you lived until you were 120 you'd still be locked up.

Apparently having a different opinion to him equates to defending this low life piece of shit
As always, messages on a keyboard rarely get across the correct tone.
You and I are clearly on the same page when it comes to the description of terrorism, but at this time it is probably best to simply feel for the families, and reflect on the loss of life, and be glad that a clearly dangerous individual has been locked away for many years. What a mess this is, whichever side of the legal position you sit.
