Capital Punishment.

Is the death sentence worth the risk of even one wrongful conviction even if you do think killing another human as punishment is a morally correct deterrent?

A place for respectful debate.

Discuss.

Totally respect those whose opinion is against its return however, certain crimes are so heinous, people so evil and so beyond change that given modern forensic science and its ability to prove doubt, I’d certainly have it back.

All that said, I don’t think it ever will be back and I can understand why.

I'm against Capital Punishment, always have been. Yet I'll admit that there are some cases that challenge that thought (in the heat of the moment....like today).

For those who are generally in favour can I ask one question?; which crimes and against who would you argue for it to be brought back for?

Admitting you like and watch Michael McIntyre.

Said it before, it’s an easy way out.
What id like to see is, for certain cases, a room with no light, a concrete slab for a bed, same for a pillow and no duvet. Someone brings food and posts it through - liquid meals - and no exercise or human contact whatsoever. That is far worse than a pain free death that puts them out of the misery of the thought of never being released. Let them rot and, in the case of that animal today, that kind of life for 52 years.

I was about to post something very similar.
No tv, no books, no interaction with anyone, just 4 walls.
If execution was brought back it would be by injection, 1 to put you to sleep followed by another to stop your heart.
That is far too easy of a punishment.

Barbaric and medieval. A modern society shouldn't be executing it's own citizens.

I have noted on social media that most calling for this tonight in the Southport case are also the one's calling Muslim countries barbaric because they execute their own citizens. Double standards? Colour me shocked.

Exactly. Imagine knowing that is your life for decades? The mental side of that would be the real punishment. Sadly though not even that would ever happen. The human rights wankers would see to it that it doesn’t. I’ve never watched Big Brother but I’d pay a decent fee to watch someone go insane over the years in those surroundings.
