Hmm, not sure that’s true. He’s not a Ruben Dias in terms of an out and out defender, but he’s defending next to the shambles we’ve had at centre half for months.

Half fit players have exposed gaps everywhere and Gvardiol has hardly been able to rest at all.

I think he could play as midfielder once we eventually sign a proper left back. Don’t know whether he could do the Rodri job though. He certainly looks better going forward than defending. He a great game today though

He's the best defender at the club not named Ruben.
Like Ake, he isn't a left back. He just adapted well there. He's an incredible centre back as he's shown in every non-City game he's played in his career.
