The Female Blue Moon Opera Singer, The Laser And Light Show, The Smoke, Before The Start Of The Match, Your thoughts….

Doesn't really matter whether you like it or not, like it or not this is football in 2025 and it's not going to change.

They pamper to the tourists who lap it up, we were one of the first to do it, now every club doe it. Around me in 104 the tourists lap it up with their phones out and until we become shit and the tourists do one it's hear to stay
Agreed. The light shows started off superbly though. Guess it’s difficult to keep up the quality of content though when you’ve done a fair few.

It was alright tonight, but nothing amazing. To me anyway.

The tribute was better, applause management aside.

I'm not sure why fans are combining the light show with the tribute for Law, Kennedy and Skip.

It was two different thing and aimed at two different elements of the fanbase, the light show ain't for me but my kids think it's amazing, I'm sure kids all over the ground find it brilliant too. I thought the tribute was lovely and well done not sure on the version of blue moon but i think they were trying to do something extra special for Tony Book who rightly belongs in our legends category, I thought by the end they had produced a unique fitting tribute to all 3 and especially Skip.

How can you come home after a great game like that with fantastic atmosphere and think of starting a new post to say you don’t like the lasers and smoke. Words fail me sometimes.

Some people have such a negative attitude towards the club ingrained in their brains that they would find a way to complain if all tickets were made free.

In fact, they did when the club paid for us all to go to Porto….

I’m not talking about the tribute. Read the headline of the thread.

There was no need for the smoke, lasers, lights, and the blue moon opera singer

The rest of the tribute which was seperate was SUPERB, RESPECTFUL and TASTEFUL.
It's brilliant theater and entertainment, maybe the old guard will hate it which I understand but respect to the club in trying to create atmosphere and make the occasion special.

The tributes to Law, Book and Kennedy were magnificent and very unique.

Our club are taking attending a football match to new levels and for me do it incredibly well.

Also great to see the crowd wake up and get behind the team and Khusanov after a horrible start, that's how a home crowd should be and see the reaction of the players to that support.

Didn't realise we lost Bobby McDonald as well as Bobby Kennedy eh....

obviously I know it's a slip of the tongue by the o.p. but they're hardly identical players! :(
Shocking error on my part, thank's for pointing it out.

I didn’t like the light show at all last night.

1. I know I’ve said this for years and some don’t agree with me, but I hate the Moon gimmick. Our football club is from Manchester, on the island of Great Britain, on planet Earth. Our football club has got fuck all to do with the Moon. Even the song ‘Blue Moon’ has got fuck all to do with the Moon (it’s about loneliness and finding love).

2. All the anti-Chelsea stuff made us look like bitter pricks. It was the same when we played Inter, which was worse because Inter fans were sound as a pound in Istanbul and we tried to humiliate them pre-game! Leave it to the fans to give the opposition shit, the club should always remain classy.

3. We had experienced it being spot on before the United game last month. We don’t need all the cheese going with the lights out, just do the lights out and let the fans do the business.

4. The light show is distinct from the Tony Book, Kennedy and Law tribute, don’t know why people have brought that into the discussion. That was tasteful and very well done, but has nothing to do with this thread.

Overall I stood there when the light show had finished and said out loud, ‘what the fucking hell was that shit?, load o fuckin bollocks!

We've got Alot to learn off the rags tribute to legends
They had lone piper nobody could hear and all his goals on big screens.....oh hang on
The match day laser n lights isn't for me but tribute to Tony Denis and Bobby was spot on

Only negative for me was the smoke.
All clubs are doing laser/ lights shows before games. Most are shite compared to ours except Psg last week was better.

What was the anti Chelsea stuff mate? I had a pint and a piss and got to my seat just as the opera singing started.
