There’s a post on the Russian invasion of Ukraine thread which has ‘Russian oil refinery bingo’ picture of all Russia’s oil refineries, with ones hit crossed off.

Trump’s 2nd term will have a similar bingo card created, with all the constitution amendments that are being eroded/attacked/circumvented.

Well, thanks for at least thinking I have any decency at all... If you let California tell it, i am a despicable human being cause i don't agree with him.

That said, i don't think Trump is a tyrant. Even if i disagree with his releasing the approximately 140 J6ers who were in fact violent. I wholely agree with the pardoning of the majority.

Similarly, would you consider Joe Biden a tyrant for commuting the sentence of a person who killed 2 cops? Did you even know he did?

Its a mixture of the hypocrisy and even simply the ignorance of these facts that does my head in.

I simply don't agree with a majority here on policy or political affiliation. But just like many supported Biden vut disagree ( albeit not that vociferously) with his preemptive pardons. I too agree with and support Trump's position on a myriad of issues.... But when i disagree with gis position ill point it out and move on.

Somehow, it seems im the only one who is not allowed to disagree with the candidate i supported
Dax, the candidate you supported is dangerous.

Fear of the "lefties" is no excuse for potentially killing people in Panama, disrespecting Canada and Denmark, destroying regulations that protect people, etc.

It's been said many times but you are on the wrong side of history. I pity you if you are decent at heart.

My advice to you would be to turn off media for 1 month, then come back and see if you still have the same opinions on Trumpism.

Give it up, mate. You will never know whether Swiss Cheese is being serious, ironic, taking the piss or just wumming. It's his style.
IMO Swiss Cheese is a WUM. He'll like posts that disagree with him; and then next thing you know he's pro-Trump again. Then, when I point blank asked him to state exactly where he stands on numerous issues - crickets - no response at all.

In this sense, he's worse even than Dax (at least Dax is consistently pro-Trump).

Swiss Cheese is a slippery fish, pretending to agree with you, all the while supporting Trump.

He's on my ignore list now.

I don't think Swiss Cheese is pro-Trump. I think he has opinions in favour and against Trump. At least that's my impression at least.

He/she/they have been on mine for so long I don't even remember why. :)

Not by accident.

This is one of those "Let's just pull the plug and see what happens' moments. This is basically seeing how much the country is prepared to take. Straight from the project 2025 handbook.

You may or may not like Maddow, but she's rarely wrong on this stuff.

That ‘s not quite true Dax. I engage with you and several others like TonyM do to, whereas there are several others I just wouldn’t waste the time and effort on.
Some of us looking in from the outside, and yes you could include Cheesey too, although I wonder myself sometimes is it no more than a WUM for him, don’t necessarily agree with some or any of what you say but do try our best to understand, or get an understanding of your viewpoint.

Just an observation since Trump’s victory. Take it on board if you wish or dismiss as’Whatever’, if you like.
You have become much more emboldened and in this instant I would have to agree with TonyM. It does vary slightly depending on who you are debating with, but you have become very dismissive as if backing the winning candidate makes you correct about everything.

My personal view of yourself both before and after the election is that you are not stupid. I believe you knew exactly what you were voting for and what was coming down the line post victory and you endorsed it then and you do now.

There are a lot on here that had suspicions of how this might play out with a Trump victory and are maybe caught off guard by the speed of roll out and the audacity of some of his seemingly off the top of his head remarks, that worryingly enough, are anything but.

America first. Hooray! From the outside looking in that increasingly is looking like fuck the rest of you, we’ll do this any way we choose.

A lot of his constitution challenging has all the hallmarks of testing the waters for worse to come.

But hey, what would a thick Paddy like me know. I mean we were defeated, ruled over since the 1200’s in various different subservient peasantry forms without land ownership or religious rights up until relatively recently. I mean it makes me sick listening to American Native injuns complaining now about being robbed. Get over it Tonto.

Im not trying to be over critical Dax but you seemingly will not back down on any moral principle at times, that the majority of outside of America don’t even see as up for debate.
You do stand by the constitutional law but you also endorse changing it where it doesn’t suit the agenda.

Anyway. Carry on.

I'm an outsider looking at this within right now, and it quite alarming what's happened since the election. The amount of people emboldened by Trump's victory is staggering. This could go beyond tipping point very quickly, and it's a long hard fall for everyone if that happens.

Listening to the Rest is Politics podcast and they brought up a great point, over the last 70 years or so the USA has ingrained itself into many other countries with its military and aid, with benefits to both sides, Trump has now turned that on its head and has basically said if you dint do as I say we are out, no nation will trust the USA ever again with such agreements. In the long run it will hopefully make other nations less reliant on the USA and in turn their influence in on the world will erode, like them trying to tell us to not give the Chagos islands back (whether it’s right or wrong I don’t know) but if we want to how about fuck off, same with Greenland and Denmark, the leaders should get up on the world stage and tell him to fuck off.
I can see a world in a few years of blocs, USA, Europe, China possibly Russia to a lesser extent all become independent in everything, in Europe especially we need to develop a military that relies on nothing from USA.

A lot of people don't seem aware that the global role of the US since ww2 is relatively new. Certainly prior to ww1 their military focus was homeland security and policing their borders - Canadian as much as Mexican!

While Trump is too stupid to realize it, "America first" isn't purely a right-wing sentiment. A lot of Americans who are left of center are tired of senseless, expensive wars and foreign entanglements. We've been fighting and playing games in the rest of the world for a century now with no obvious benefit at home and often no benefit for the people who live in the country we're allegedly helping, with rare exceptions like WWII and certain diplomatic achievements.

I would say American retrenchment is a potential silver lining to Trump's presidency but all that seems to have gone out the window in favor of conquering Greenland etc., so.
