Not me personally but a work colleague has come down with it this week. She is really poorly, had to go to hospital for treatment. Her whole face is swollen up her nose is twice the size she also has it in her eyes. Her eyes are swollen shut.

It looks a horrible infection

It's not pleasant tbh

My missus got it 18 months back after falling when we were out walking the dog. She had no rash but a few small faint red spots which you could barely see, was in real pain with it for over a month.

Hope you're soon over it.

Yeah I actually got mine was shingles from Manchester RI A&E in 2014.

It was rashes all over right side thigh.

Had it 3 times first time was painful put me on some drug that knocked me out for few hours 2nd time was ok just drank plenty of water had Paracetamol.. 3rd time didn't know I had it till went to doctors for a check up said you have shingles on your arm.

Does affect people differently though..

I remember working with a lad (well he was about 48 at the time) who spent nearly four months off work with shingles.
He lost a lot of weight and said it was the fact that he was constantly tired (which could have also come from his weight loss) but it really did take it out of him.

How long till it went m8?

It’s been years but I think 2 months or so. At first it was non-blanching rash, but the doctors surmised it was shingles.

I couldn’t even remember exactly what the pain was. Most likely it was hip and pelvic pain when walking.

Damn that’s 3 times. And I thought once shingles then no more, like chickenpox.

I had Shingles when I was in my late twenties. My Irish doctor was positively beaming when I showed him the sores on my back. "Just a perfect picture of Shingles!".
I travelled by train from Manchester to visit my girlfriend in Hereford. A hot summer's day and the itching was unbearable. When I got to her house her mother refused to let me stay, I had to check in to a local pub with rooms. I didn't tell the landlord of my condition, but I hoped he washed the sheets.
Shingles can return so I had the one-off vaccination.

The herpes virus (chicken pox) stays with you for life, lying dormant in the nerves. Shingles is when the virus comes to the surface of the skin. Ouch. You can't catch SHINGLES of someone else, but you CAN catch the virus from the blisters.

That reminds me I have to get the steak out of the fridge for later.
