He's got to be smart enough to know his role in the side would be reduced, but if can get near his top form again, there's still no-one better.
Also, what a mentor he'd be to his replacement...(hopefully Wirtz!)

I still wonder if he wants to have another crack at the CL, seeing his last two finals didn't go as he, personally, would've wanted.

One thing amongst his injury hit season, and some pretty mixed performances, is that he is clearly not striking the ball so well. Seems odd that technique is faltering a bit.

I personally wouldn't be getting rid of bernardo and Grealish over Kdb tbh.

The reliance on the old guard is what drove our transfer strategy the past 2 or 3 summers and brought us to where we are now. Also kills the development of players like McAtee

No I was just saying out of gundog kdb Silva and grealish the last 2 wouldn't be topping my list currently of the first players to go

As long as we still look for his long term replacement as if he were leaving, keeping KDB on a lower salary is a good move imo.

He can still come on and change matches for a few years. Like in old age could easily see he coming on at 65 minutes when we need to find a goal and making important contributions for a couple seasons more.

We just cant rely on him as the first 11 starter or expect him to play 90 minutes multiple times a week, nor to be available all the time.

A reduced role on lower wages seems like a good thing for city if he wanted to go that route.

Been a great player for us but we can't keep playing him and expecting the old KDB. Not the total root of our problems but personally I'd prefer to see him and Gundogan move on.
