Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

Football constantly evolves and goes through cycles but Pep just can’t change. He insists that if we don’t have possession we are in trouble defensively, well if he is aware of that they why not do something about it.

Have we miscalculated by persistently insisting that his contract be extended here?

Without the departure of at least 7 players and the arrival of 10 new ones, an even worse season awaits us next year.

He ducked out of the hard choice with the defence, Khushanov made a mistake in his first minute then was solid and should have started, Stones is weaker on the left side and Akanji a liability in the centre this season, Nunes, is better when forward but cannot get back on a counter.

I don't blame any player for being a shambles collectively more where they were placed, especially with our DM issues.

recruitment needs to improve and big clearout and rebuild needed. but that needs to be done ALONGSIDE our improvement tactically. lesser clubs, decent clubs, great clubs all found ways against us this season tactically we are being found out. that on Pep.

this month will be a big wake up call to Pep. I can see us not winning any of games vs Newcastle, dippers, Spurs away. hopefully more draws than losses in there. this will give others to catch up or get front of us for the CL places battle.
on top of that Real Madrid may be doing a massacre. dont want to think of balls played in for Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius and they have Akanji or Nunes to beat...
or even worse we gift them some chances on a plate which we keep doing...

Pep got us 100 points in a season, Pep won us a treble and we got PL 4 in a row. That has been amazing….but those seasons have finished and are confined to HISTORY!

I don’t want City to become another history club. We can’t live in the past on what we won. If we want to continue winning we have to stop whining about what we have won… it’s gone, done. We enjoyed it…but football doesn’t stop for Manchester City. What matters now is today and tomorrow.

Even Pep has been living in the past reminding anyone who will listen what he has won with CIty. I hope Pep is motivated to still want to win trophies and that probably includes higher up too.

I don’t think he is, I honestly don’t no more

First half was poor but the second was absolutely shameful. Dare I say it but it looked like a group of players no longer playing for the manager

The last 10-15 minutes of the first half was decent in comparison to the rest of the game. Could've gotten an equalizer if we managed to get it together sooner.

Yes our injuries have fucked us but he has not helped at all. It's the same style week after week when its clear it's not working. I know he can't help with the stupid mistakes we are making but fuck me this is shocking. Nico is probably not the answer atm but it would be nice to see something different every now and then. We try something and it's looks like it's working and then we never see it again. What the fuck is happening

I think we were pretty well set up to start the day to be honest. The first goal was an absolute disaster of decision making that we still could have recovered from. I dont know if the second half meltdown is all on Pep. Pep was pretty quick to pull Phil after he stopped trying defensively but I didn't see many options on the bench to cover the other problems on the field.
