Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Foden played poorly and his turnover for the second goal was abysmal.

But the third goal - turnover on the edge of the attacking box, two passes, chance at the other end was coming, because with this personnel and these tactics, it was ALWAYS coming because we’ve seen those chances and goals conceded how many times jn the last three months?

Tactics don’t change. Personnel doesn’t change.

I’m not worried about Phil.

I am worried that we haven’t done anything to remedy that we need a whole new midfield. I am worried that Pep hasn’t adjusted really at all. I am worried that we don’t have a right back.

I’m most worried that damned near everyone in the world knows it but the people who can do something about it haven’t and don’t seem to be as concerned about it as they should be.

Shameful last 30 minutes. Absolutely shameful.

You can take not winning games if the effort is there, but they gave up at 3-1 and that is unacceptable.

The annoying thing is in parts we actually played well. After the opening 15 mins we were decent and the 1st 10 mins after half time we were on top, but then another gift after gifting them the 1st goal, 2 mins after equalising. Braindead stuff. Some players need to have a serious look at themselves after that.
A very long hard look. But leadership comes from the top. It is sadly lacking presently. Personally I think Pep is becoming a very large part of the problem. Maybe it is time for a new face in the dugout?

at least someone with some balls has called it, expect a battering on here for that but sadly its the truth, he's done us proud but the long term fail from Pep is going back to the Kompany years and not replacing players as they aged, this has carried on up to date, that IMO is bad management
I don't think he is, but let's look at the options, who would you replace him with? I'm intrigued.

Oh really. This season has been one of injuries & transition. Are we not allowed one or do you now expect to win the PL every year.
No we won’t, and that’s fine. We are a team in transition. Play like it. Don’t continue to play this fucking awful piss easy to counter system that has been found out 3 months ago.

That team was less than the sum of its parts and that’s the manager.

Pretty horrific today after we scored. Team need to bounce back fast. Hope I am wrong, but February could be even more horrific. Difficult times. We've been through much worse in the past, but not in the last 4 years.

Ultimately, everything that happens on the pitch is the on the manager. He cannot hide.
Let him feel some bruised personal pride. Maybe he needs it to re-engage the team tactics.
Problem is, it will take some time to fix.
What do you want him to do if injuries to massive players happen.

You can't make an amazing dish if you haven't got the ingredients as a chef.

Again not on him

Put responsibility on the players that are on the pitch

Well beaten but again shite at the back and again they're always lucky fuckers with deflections.

Enjoy second place again Tarquin tossers.

For us, as others have posted Pep does need to find some system for what we have out on the pitch. It all seems like his first season with us when game after game we were second best.

Hopefully next season with new players bedded in we can get back to how we've been.

No doubt pep will give the lads a well deserved few days off now before the fa cup game. Bless them

One to forget & move on. Shit happens & we were unlikely to beat Arsenal this time. They’re not second for nothing.

The squad will get better; the players will gel & need to put this behind them.

Just think of Instanbul; the treble & 4in a row. Forget today
It’s not that they beat us, they were taking the piss out of Haaland. When was the last time that happened in a PL game where players of an opposition team were openly taking the piss out of a player? Van Nistlerooy in 2004? The annoying thing is with the calibre of player we getting to replace our legends like KDB, Walker and Gundogan with khusanov, Savinho Marmoush who are players that let’s be honest, aren’t world beaters, I don’t see us returning to Emirates to hand a beating to these guys. Why aren’t we in for Musiala, Wirtz, Guimaraes like we used to be? Why are we going for players that even Spurs could get? PS Foden dropped maybe the worst performance I’ve ever seen from him. Not really surprising tbh, he tends to looks scared in these feisty games. He doesn’t really have cajones. IMO, He was the reason this happened imo. That pass to Partey 20 seconds after we scored. Humiliating. I think I hate this Arsenal team and these Arsenal fans more than any team I’ve ever seen since Fergies United.

Football is cyclic no one team dominates forever and football tactics and styles of play change.

Guardiola seems unique in that his ability to change tactics from game to game is now the issue

I think the adage of possession of the ball is the best form of defence is well and truly gone

Personally if this continues into next season then questions have to be asked
Youll be for it.
How dare you question things. ;)

I think that’s a fair call. He needs someine to challenge him.

Kovacic Bernardo Kevin Gundogan cannot be your midfield- too old and tired

Akanji Ake Stones Dias cannot be your CBs - Too injured and unavailable

Lewis Nunes Gvardiol cannot be your fullbacks

Attack isn’t an issue but everything is also is washed old and injured

One midfielder isn’t solving the issue I fear

And manager absolutely refuses to try something new

How the Fook are some saying Nunes did well ? Fook me have we dropped that much
He was absolutely awful today. We all know he can’t defend for toffee and as he’s not a natural defender he deserves a bit of a pass for that. However every single time he gets the ball he kills whatever momentum we had going. Every time the same. Receive the ball, stop, turn back to face his own goal then pass the ball backwards. When you have Haaland waiting in the middle for a cross it’s incredibly frustrating.

We have a long shopping list. Two keepers, at least two real full backs, a proper DM is the minimum we need at the moment. It’s so sad to watch our star players go downhill so quickly but we have to rebuild now for next season.

All sort of coincides with Txiki leaving , save the pot for the new DOF , then we completely shit the bed and spend like fuck in January, just so unlike City , and our way of doing things , we are shitting the bed and going mad in January- just why ?
