Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

People keep saying it’s all because Foden gave the ball away, that’s why we lost. Right okay…….
Yep exactly

You answered the question

Ypu are not telling me that City were on the advantage when Haaland scored. As soon as Foden did that mistake we fell away like a house of cards

I'm not even annoyed. The table doesn't lie and the rest are streets ahead, today isn't a shock.

What fans need to understand is this team or the vast majority of this team have give us the treble and 4 in a row.

They've had the downturn in form and intensity that I thought would happen last season or the season before that and this season it has happened.

No biggie. It happens and is happening. Yes we could have planned for the inevitable but we haven't so we have to crack on.

Top 4 is the priority now. Forget anything else. We will have to get through this season and there will be more batterings coming for us unfortunately but we have to take our medicine and suck it up.

All you posters cryarsing and going overboard on the criticism need to realise what this team, this club and this manager have given you these last 7 or 8 plus years.

Onwards and upwards.

This....

Forgot to write that Gundo was our main problem again. No Gundo, no problem.

We did better vs Chelsea because we had 3 instead of 2 midfielders. Foden and Marmoush aren't midfielders or weren't asked to play as ones. We were way too open and lightweight in midfield.

Can we throw Gonzales against Real? We need more proper midfielders in the first XI. It's strange for a Pep team to lack midfielders.

Just been on Twitter, and that's enough for me. Some of our so-called fans are embarrassing.
No what was embarrassing today was the collapse for about the fifth time this season and people who continually try to defend it.
I will continue to support this club until my last breath but there is something very rotten in the State of Denmark and if you can't she that Morley God help you.

What do you want him to do if injuries to massive players happen.

You can't make an amazing dish if you haven't got the ingredients as a chef.

Again not on him

Put responsibility on the players that are on the pitch
Your analogy is not correct.
He has alternative players. But they don't provide what he needs or wants.
Maybe Pep rested on his laurels after last season.
Whatever it is, the manager is the one playing with the same tactics and receiving the same outcome.

It’s not that they beat us, they were taking the piss out of Haaland. When was the last time that happened in a PL game where players of an opposition team were openly taking the piss out of a player? Van Nistlerooy in 2004? The annoying thing is with the calibre of player we getting to replace our legends like KDB, Walker and Gundogan with khusanov, Savinho Marmoush who are players that let’s be honest, aren’t world beaters, I don’t see us returning to Emirates to hand a beating to these guys. Why aren’t we in for Musiala, Wirtz, Guimaraes like we used to be? Why are we going for players that even Spurs could get? PS Foden dropped maybe the worst performance I’ve ever seen from him. Not really surprising tbh, he tends to looks scared in these feisty games. He doesn’t really have canines. IMO, He was the reason this happened imo. That pass to Partey 20 seconds after we scored. Humiliating.
Ill tell you why. Because the powers that be are obsessed with the net spend trophy. None of the top brass at city are city fans. They are all very good at doing jobs, but thats what they enjoy, doing their jobs well. The football is secondary.
I know this for a fact having had many conversations with somebody who absolutely knows

Youll be for it.
How dare you question things. ;)

I really don’t care because it is 100% clear that there is an issue with the way we play, tactics, formation, speed etc. possession of the ball for 80 minutes means fuck all if you don’t shoot or I’f you can’t defend - it’s on the players yes but also the manager and ultimately many city fans whilst not openly admit it must be thinking about what exactly Guardiola is doing to stop this downward spiral - personally I have seen fuck all change

What sticks out to me is how we keep playing players who clearly don’t have a future at the club.

Arsenal wasn’t afraid to stick on kids they think have a future with the club.

The same players who clearly don’t have a future here know it themselves and it shows.

Pep's preference for a small 19/20-man senior squad has bitten us on the arse this season because of the injuries and the ageing players. Poor summer transfer windows, no time for proper recovery from injuries and no pace at the back and in midfield.
Yeah but it worked previous league winning seasons so can’t get too pissed about squad size now. No injuries and we’re battling for second.
