He's the only one who's managed to stay fit enough to play! The rest of our defenders have been managed so poorly for nothing except a big brain play that blew up in Pep's face.

I reckon he’s a great backup and nowt more, but he’s only “undisputed starter” cos the others are crocked. Pep tried the young lad and he got exposed, it’s hardly a blind spot.Poor, always had mistakes in him, looks good against poor sides, but usually exposed against better opponents. Especially this season. He was supposed to be our backup, not some undisputed starter. One of Pep's blind spots this season.

Reluctant to criticise, he was rushed back from injury twice and hasn't had a rest since. No idea if he's properly fit or not.
The mistake was a shitbrained moment from him. I will add that the pass from Stones wasn't a good one. The angle on it lead him into trouble before he even touched it. Stones shouldn't have played it in the first place but akanji had enough time to just get rid instead of doing what so many of our players constantly do and try and pass through a player as if they are static holograms that can't intercept the ball. But mistakes happen from every single player in the squad. His defending when we are on transition needs highlighting. He never ever backs up the engaging defender. There was a time where havertz had the ball, he was alone against 2 of our players with another on the cover to make 3. They could easily have hounded him off the ball but instead akanji backs right off goes and marks space and leaves stones to take him 1v1 which then mesnt stones cannot go in strong and risk being spun and so they just let him have it and he plays it through to someone else and then they're in a dangerous position all of a sudden. Akanji did thr same thing for havertz goal, why isnt he going over backing up stones so stones can go and actually make a tackle instead of looking to just block a shot?
I can only assume this is a tactical ploy coached into them all but it's very noticeable in akanji.

It’s a fucking shame that Stones, Dias and Ake are injury prone or else he would be first player out the door in the summer. I can’t stand his attitude this season.
