It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

To be fair nobody knows if Txiki did that either. Recent history makes me question the hundreds of options when we then end up signing Nunes.
If Txiki gives Pep 100 options and he ranked Nunes as 3rd option behind Bellingham and Rice, then everyone did their job because we went and signed him quickly when the other two weren't available.

Whether or not Pep should have rated him is a different question.

Despite everyone being aware midfield is the major weak point of the team at present, not 1 penny has been spent. If, when, Rodri returns it looks like he’s going to be flogged to death again and it’d be no surprise to see him breakdown again.
We have to get the right player, & if we're being quoted ridiculous prices, or the players aren't available, what more can City do? Evidently, we don't want another Nunes or Philips scenario.

HOWEVER, where City are to blame is that WE KNEW the situation regarding Rodri after winning the treble. We tried for Paqueta, but when that fell through we made the huge fuck up of panic buying Matheus Nunes for £53m.

He was never up to the level required & proved it during his first season too. But when given the chance to rectify this in the summer, we inexplicably neglected to do so. Now our worst Rodri fears have materialised, we're desperately trying to do what we should've done properly 18 months ago.

This shitshow is ALL on City. We've no one to blame but ourselves.

Txiki ranking Nunes 3rd behind Bellingham and Rice. That says more than I ever could.

I doubt Pep is given 100 options, more likely he says something like "I need a player with these qualities to play in these positions" and Txiki gives him around 3 alternatives and Pep offers his opinion after a presentation of each player.

Well you get my point. Txiki operates with the finances given by Soriano and the requirements of Pep so he can only do so much.

Well, his job is to present good alternatives to sign. The ones we have signed recent windows have not been very good. Of course he has major blame in this, even if some other may have a part in that blame as well. Just as Txiki deserves credit for his successful signings, he deserves criticism when he sign players that are not good enough.
With that said, of course no single individual is to blame for the current state of our squad. But for the recruitment team its without a doubt a massive failure.

Ah right. When did Bayern say this ?
They don’t need to. When have they ever paid 100 mill for a player? They get other German players to run their contracts down and move on a Bosman and that’s how they can offer a decent wage.

Bayer have said many times that don’t want to sell to Bayern.

Txiki can only do so much. He signs the player and then it's down to Pep and the player to shoulder the blame if they aren't a success.

Txiki isn't the one playing or setting tactics. Pep is leaving Nunes out to dry at RB. That's not Txikis fault but it's those performances that people are blaming him for.
