he will be selected vs Leyton, upfront likely to give Haaland a game off ad to get a goal under his belt.

not sure this deeper central role is the best for him. his pace cannot be used as well there vs teams sitting deeper. he will just end up waiting for the ball while Akanji,Ake, Stones passing between each other.

to get the best out of Marmoush we need to be a quicker team, attack quicker, but for that we need huge changes to the side. and 90% of our opponents wont be as naive as Maresca to try a sick high line and leave us space
You can say the same of Haaland, Foden, Savio, Doku, Nunez and Gvardiol.

We seen to be buying players who want to attack at pace, then we tell them to slow it down and let the Central Defenders dictate tempo. Its just odd

Totally agree, he was always on the front foot looking for a pass to get behind the defence but it never came, it never does.

The only time we did play like that recently was against Chelsea and look at the vast improvement in that game.

well, at least the happy clappers have the excuse ready to go from day one. he's "making intelligent runs" that none of our dumb midfielders can spot. disregard that he gives the ball away every time he does get near it.

Yeah

Can't say I agree with Gary Neville on much but he was bang on yesterday when he was perplexed that Marmoush and Savinho were in possession of the ball knocking it to each other...only to pass it to Gvardiol to be the one to do something with it instead. Granted, Gvardiol is no slouch with the ball, but the other two are our creative players and they passed the responsibility to a defender when they were 2 on 2 with arsenal defenders around their box.

I partially agree but Arsenal have a far more sophisticated defence than Chelsea. Much more difficult to get behind. Fact is though we hardly tried to.

The key for Pep is now finding a system that suits a more fluid faster way of playing. With Omar and Erling it is important to alter things. We will not get the best out of our forwards if we rely ion Akanji and others to be the ones who dictate the play. It's all too slow and then when they get pressed they panic.

We will need to change 180*

Will need forwards looking players rather than wide way passers

Oh I didn’t know Kev plays 2 to Earling in a 4-4-2.Thanks.
Just you called Marmoush Kevs replacement which he obviously isn’t.
Do tell…

If they play the same position, one us new and one us about to leave, what would you call it?

I have not been very impressed with him so far but not sure what his job was yesterday and he seemed unsure himself tbf. Looked better against Chelsea so yesterday must be partly down to Pep. Difficult time to arrive into a City team in turmoil and he does seem able to take a half decent corner so let's wait to see if we have wasted another wheelbarrow full of cash.

Surely to fuck Pep must have had a fully baked idea of how he fits in before we bought him. If not we really are in deep shite.
Yes of course he does. Theorectically he replaces Alvarez, but there are nuances between players' quality and stylistically. Omar needs to adjust to a new team and Pep needs to adjust for a new player.

You do realise that you're judging him on just two appearances, right? Give him a chance, FFS!
