I loved the fact that the 4 players (assuming we conclude this transfer) we brought in, are all players I haven't previously known anything about. Makes it more exciting to see them play. And nobody else suspected us being linked with them till it was well underway as well, which made it more interesting.

Finally, let's hope it's third time lucky with the midfielders. After Phillips and Nunes, I think we got a good one, and I expect him to adapt quickly to our style of play.
To be honest, the Phillips we bought and the Phillips we ended up with were basically two different players. That shoulder surgery he got just as we signed him fucked him up and he was never the same as a result.

Nunes had big question mark over him the day we signed him. Felt like a weird deal at the time and it seems obvious now it was to keep Mendes sweet and help Wolves pass PSR, which they were about to fail until they sold Nunes.

Tim Sherwood’s take was even worse.

“This boy is going to be a massive risk. He won't play and they'll end up shipping him out again. What are they signing him for? Unless they're going to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League, they've got nothing else to play for.”
Ouch someone is a bitter ****

If Reis and Khusanov play. Let's see if they play at Orient.

hmm as a Porto fan i have some doubts about nico's fit at city and the premier league but i hope everything turns out well, he improved a lot from last season to this one, hopefully he has another leap or two in him, since he is young
Mate he is from La Masia.
He is very similar to Rodri.
I think he will be very good for us.

Top 4, FA Cup, Champions League. Re-building. What worries me is that Pep will play a player if he came from someone elses academy but if he comes from our academy he won't play them. I will not be happy if this means O'Reilly is the latest player to be sold. If it does, I think City fans might start to lose it with the regime.

Your academy / youth team is the resource with which to bring players through as the first team ages. Use it. Why can't Pep do this?
So if we sell O'reilly and he only ever plays in teams who finish below us, you won't be happy??
Very strange outlook.....if that bothers you, I suggest you get a season ticket for our Academy ;)

What are the doubts? I ask as I have never watched him play.

Was last season not his first year as a starter and he had a few injury issues?

He’s certainly in for a baptism of fire…. The fear is it’s a bit of a panic buy but we didnt really have any option. We’re in a right mess. Missing out of the CL this season would put us back years and cause us issues with PSR no doubt. Best of luck to the lad!!

Same. And it's another reason why the "who would you sign? There's nobody available on the market" thing is so silly.

The majority on here wouldn't have a clue who these players were a month ago. And here they are.

Look at what happens when you actually take action in the transfer market!
