I just watched the recent Talksport video on YT, with that United fan crying out about their activity this Jan window. He was wondering why they couldn't have loaned Asensio ahead of Aston Villa.

He didn't stop to realize maybe it's because Villa are actually still in the CL while they are 13th with no CL football and look nowhere near qualifying for next season's CL.

They need to wake up and smell the roses - at present, they are a midtable side.

It's exactly why they'll stay exactly where they are.

For as much as we moan about the media licking their ringpiece the rag masses lap it up and take it as gospel they are the worlds greatest club and it'd be an honour to play for the mighty reds.

Completely forgetting that the current crop of players couldn't give a fuck what they did 25 years ago.

Even when we get destroyed 5-1 by arsenal I can always rely on Utd to make it all seem fine.

So they let their golden boy go to a club above them in the league lol surely they ship him off abroad not to another prem team

Would love to find out what’s gone on with rashford at Utd.

Their academy poster boy who made his debut a decade ago first being made to train on his own then shipped out to Aston Villa with the rags partly paying his ridiculous wages.

They are in the shit money wise on player transfers having to sell to buy which won’t improve their squad in the long term. Which means they will have to go to their fabled youth academy. Trouble is when was the last time their academy produced a player that has gone on to have any type of notable career? You would have to go back to 1992 with family man Ryan, The Chuckle Brothers and the ginger toe sucker. They’ve brought Jason Wilcox to try and recreate City’s academy set up, however City have completely cut United off at the knees as no young player now aspires to play for the rags. By the time they get any form of cohesive strategy going in the next ten years, the doom spiral they are in could see them in the Championship.

Excellent points, you know they can’t see it they’d probably be better off getting relegated then the penny would maybe drop with them and they could do a reset and rebuild from there ..As someone has already posted the media have to take part of the responsibility for were they are now,the constant articles blowing smoke up them, has the club and fanbase convinced they (1) are still a big club (2) challenging and rubbing shoulders with the clubs who actually contest the top trophies..

“The doom spiral” I like it.

I can remember when we had a generation of youngsters unfortunately we were skint, all we needed was 4/5 top players and we'd have been a real force.

Rags even if this lot turn out to be all Lakes, Whites & Redmonds can't afford the fucking pot to piss in and that's not showing any sign of change.
Berrada was very good at selling off academy players for a big profit. Maybe he is trying to do the same, so that they have the transfer funds available for the first team.

Although, some people have argued that these sales have come back to bite City.

Which is why losing to them in the FAC final last season was a fuck up of epic proportions on our part. Had we turned up sober, they would not be unbeaten in the Europa Cup and be shitting themselves about having to rebate a good chunk of their sponsorship monies at the end of this season.

Yeah but unfortunately every now and then you get cup upsets or giantkilling this one goes down with Wigan or the red scousers against Wimbledon..shit happens from time to time ..

But how do they reset, if they still have these big earners on their books?

Part of their problem is they are still far too obsessed with us, they can’t handle it. I see it from rag mates in our WhatsApp groups, desperate to revel in anything going wrong for us instead of just being a bit more self aware at what a fucking utter shambles their club is nowadays.

Take the words manchester united out of the equation, take the media spin on that club out of the equation, and you're left with a club that is regularly mid table, selling their stars to bigger clubs, that can't attract the best players in the world, that have to buy cheap and develop the players.

Without the media coverage of that club it sounds very much like fulham or something.
Add to that how much Fulham spend compared to them.
