The "which famous person died today" thread

Funny guy RIP.

And our ex youth/ academy man, now assistant manager at Leicester.

I mean our old keeper...
Couldn't even find any images of Brian Murphy our ex reserve keeper in a City kit despite him appearing on our bench a good few times, it's like Brian Barry Murphy has assumed his identity for City football related searches.

George & Mildred Brian Murphy was funny though anyone remember him being hired as a hitman, going along with it thinking it was something else.

Was this in George & Mildred or something else?

That was the George & Mildred film. Like most British ‘tv-series to movie’ efforts in the 70s it wasn’t good.

George and Mildred .......probably fetched about 20m viewers or more which must be insane to today's generation
Don't know how it stands up now but we were easily pleased in the days of three channels

RIP

I recently watched all the Man about the House and George and Mildred shows on ITVX and loved them. Some excellent scripts and great acting. Robin's Nest also had its moments but not quite at the same level.

Obviously YMMV but Brian provided me with some great entertainment. I'd never really rated him when I watched these shows as a kid but now I'm older I definitely appreciated his comic chops.

They’re still very funny, more funnier than any of the so called comedy programmes on these days.
