He is versatile. But he is first and foremost a Left back. He is kinda like Cancelo. Who is a Right back, albeit played a lot at left back and RM. But at the core and at his best Cancelo is a Right back.

Also he is not strong with either foot. This is not a Dembele type player where you cant tell his dominant foot. He is dominantly left footed. He can use his right just fine. But he is clearly a lefty.

66 million is more than enough to get the best RB in the world. If we are paying that much, it should be for the absolute best RB in the world. Not an utility left back who is decent at Right back and can be deployed in CM. That's just too rich for an utility sauad player.

Exactly. Ola Aina is what an utility back should look like. Cheap, adaptable, and dependable.

At €80m, I agree. He's a good player at £45m - £50m, but at £66m? Nah, Juvé can keep him.
 
I think this is nailed on for summer. I think the price in January was more of a fuck off thing. Saw some stuff this morning that Hancko (LB) is pretty much sorted for summer move to Juve.

If you really want to put blame for the CL semi.. look at Cancelo. He's the one who broke the offside trap and what happened happens!

If you think Zinny is shit defensively.. Cancelo is dogshit wrapped in catshit!

When Cancelo’s head was right he was great for us and probably the perfect Pep full back. Only trouble was he had some great periods some terrible.
If Cambiaso does end up with us and can produce Cancelo football consistently, I don’t know enough about him to say he can,he’d be a great player.

Spot on. Curiously & I was surprised to learn quite a few of our players back then including Jack rated Cancelo as the most technically talented player in the squad.

I don't think Cambiaso is anywhere near as technically gifted as Cancelo, however, I do think he's more disciplined in his football & offers more defensively than the Portuguese even though his strengths are more suited attacking wise.

The only thing I can say was Cancelo was 100% a better footballer who added goals and assists.

While Zinchenko couldn’t score and wasn’t great at assisting either. Oh and as a fullback or wingback Zinchenko was diabolical.

Zinchenko's time here has been distorted by a few moments - the Villa game when he was brought on along with Mahrez and Gundogan afterwards and he played his part in the turnaround certainly helped wipe out many of the games where he was absolutely the weak link in the team when he played. He gave everything but a 100% Zinchenko was well below a 100% Cancelo. Whenever I mentioned that performance though I have had one or two point out we went 2 down after he came on and the recovery only started with sterling and Gundo introduction.

All was well & we were two goals up & comfortable until Walker succumbed to his injury & had to be substituted. Camcelo moved from LB to RB replacing Walker, with Zinchenko coming on in the final minutes.

Okay, you take it from here & tell me where the goals came from. I'll wait...
