New CL Format Thoughts

There will be records broken for boiling piss if City and Celtic beat RM and BM.
Our poor form pre-Xmas means the best we could have hoped for under the old system is scraping through as runners up in which case we'd have faced a group winner.

If you have that information just contact The Sun, make yourself a few hundred thousand and break the biggest story in English football history. Good luck mate. Looking forward to seeing it.
I don't have the time or the inclination, but SO kind of you to give me the advice, however I'll pass as we value our privacy of which The Stun pays no regard! Fwiw the info about the 'random' draw is already out there.
Therefore YOU should find it quite easily.....

I think this next round will do us good. We cocked up the league but need some real competition to get us going now.

We have beat BM at a canter last 10 years and RM are our new rivals. We should have buried them away last year, but we didn't.....

The only bit I really don't like is that because of this 'League" we've apparently lost FA Cup replays and denied lower divison clubs the chance to have another go and massively increase their income against the 'big boys'. It's an utter disgrace IMHO.
The replays went years ago apart from the fourth and fifth rounds. They ain’t coming back so give it up.

We are not the only ones.
PSG, Bayern, Madrid and several others were too complacent at the start.
These teams won't make the same mistake next year.

We'd be fucked without them but there's absolutely no need for a play off round. It's only there so UEFA can get extra TV revenue from 2 more rounds of games. If you don't qualify in the top 16 you don't deserve to still be in the competition in all honesty.

The bottom 3 should all be demoted to next seasons Europa League.

Young Boys, Slovan Bratislava and RB Salzburg had a combined goal difference of minus 63 and nope, they never played each other.

What I mean is we cocked up the Premier League this year early on. So we need some competition to get us started for the season. Premier league is a write off, league cup is gone.....CL and FA Cup.

I thing some of those three, possibly all three, were national champions, so are you saying champions from those countries shouldn't qualify for the CL thus giving more places to nations with higher coefficients?
I think all three had to go through qualifying rounds rather than straight into the 36 team league.

It's one league but you don't play everyone. That will be UEFA's next change and then we will have the European League they've wanted for a long time.
I would have less of a problem with a Euro Super League if it was based on recent on-pitch performances (say last four or five years) rather than ancient history, and also included relegation.

That last round of matches with so much changing and a goal every 47 seconds is why this format will prevail. Most people loved it despite its needless complexity.

European super league will not be based on sporting achievements if the wrong clubs qualify.

Don’t know if this had been mentioned elsewhere but the revised table for the extra two Champions League slots for next season, has England well placed for a 5th team. Currently City of course. Long way to go yet though.

I don't like it much but the Group Stages had got very boring. I would like to say that football is very divided between a number of 'super' clubs and weak clubs and yet City, Real Madrid, PSG etc really struggled.

I didn't much appreciate the drama of the last day because I was at the ground watching City struggle. Watching the goal highlights later in the evening was boring especially as so few games mattered. Our game was the main one.

I thought it would be a good watch, seeing all 18 games being covered on one channel simultaneously. Watching the table constantly changing. Even though I’d obviously know if City were through or not, thought it would still be quite interesting after the event.

But TNT in their wisdom, despite having countless channels available, decided to have that show behind the red button only, so it was unrecordable.

And Feyenoord beat Milan who finished above them in the group stage.
Funnily enough, Benfica and Monaco ended up on 13 points each In the league stage in 16th and 17th position , the closest match up, and had a great 3 all draw today
