I didn’t want to jinx anything by mentioning the CL! If we are involved then, Sunday will also be ruled out in case we’re playing on the Tuesday. As you say, makes sense for us to be scheduled for the Saturday in the cup.

It was in Ukraine against Dynamo Kyiv. We played Chelsea on the Sunday afternoon and in Kyiv on Wednesday evening. Pellegrini (along with just about every City fan) was furious that we weren’t playing at Chelsea on the Saturday and ended up playing a load of kids there to allow the first team regulars better preparation for the CL tie.
For some reason, lots of Blues have become convinced over the years since then that the game in Ukraine was on the Tuesday but it was definitely played on the Wednesday.

Shows how bad it's become with TV & fixture congestion that Sunday in London followed by a long distance CL game on Wednesday wouldn't raise an eyebrow these days.

no further injuries, more time for new lads to settle in and train together, somehow regain a little bit of confidence, maybe a key injury or two for them (not hoping for actual injury but maybe a diarrhoea) and a bit of luck and we might be able to beat them in QF or semis when they’re focusing on later CL draws

I fear we are nowhere near a level to beat them this season unfortunately to many top players we'll out of form.

Our fixture against Orient was the 14th drawn in the fourth round draw. Rags vs Leicester was the 1st and Leeds vs Millwall the 2nd.

With Spurs A and Forest A either side of this tie we badly need a home draw - and a favourable one after the horror run of fixtures in Feb.

This is the only comp we can realistically win so getting any help would be welcome.

On that basis then the rags at our place where we can give them a proper walloping on the telly.
