Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Fucking hell the own goal is being talked up in the same tones of Ronnie Redford et al great attempt as it was it hit the bar and was bouncing away some mad Orwellian double truth going on.
Was a great strike to be fair - albeit as you say would have bounced away.

Racking my brains on this one, I referenced the game during match day post ( I was confident the 18/19 team would get a result even at 0-2 down, final score 3-2); it was either 2018 or 2019 - year of the quad.
2019

Add Cheltenham 2021 to that list as well.
Yeah. That was a tough team to figure out. Their long throw ins. Those were like corner kicks. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that the team that we had to get dressed in a pub next to the stadium? I think Pep made some good comments to the effect that our (City) training room wasn't "reality". That if you're a proper footballer, you're getting dressed in your car, in an alley, in a dressing room the size of a closet. In a pub. Just take the booze out. lol

They've done it for years. Out of interest why did you notice in the last coupe of months?
I've listened to talksport when keown is on and he's just utterly delusional but nowhere near as bad as wright - he tries to come across all hip and cool but he's the most bitter simpleton of the lot, a complete and utter ****.

According to him Michael Oliver favours city because he's never sent a city player off.. even Keane and ratboy Neville had to shoot down his point.

What's the issue with Ederson? He was supposedly back in training yet he couldn't even make the bench.

Used to be to get a gig as a pundit you needed to get your facts right and be impartial . These days you just need to shoot your mouth off and have the same biases as the red top fan bases . It's like being in a pub listening to a braggart but who runs no risk of getting thumped . Lowest common denominator .

Read a match report or two, listened to a few interviews, then watched the match (reverse order, I know!) and I thought we were going to be awful and pegged back! NOTHING like that, at all.

If every chance had gone in, it would have been about 7-3, but we dominated play on a hard, bobbly surface, in miserable conditions, on a tight pitch.

They clearly set out to win every 40-60, by hook or by crook, we should have had a least 1 penalty, there should have been at least 1 red card for a career-ender “tackle” from behind, where there was not only no attempt to play the ball but the studs were halfway up the calf, but it’s all been put down to the “scrappy” League 1 team showing City what life in the lower divisions is like!

Thought the ref was a disgrace and gave McAtee a reasonable yellow after missing multiple similar yellow card offenses by LO, then completely missed the plot on the challenge on Marmoush.

Thought we played some decent stuff considering the team never having ever played together, programmed subs, their early goal, and us missing numerous opportunities.

Thought Reis looked very nice, and Khusanov was excellent in his second 45 mins. Fast, simple passes, not afraid to get stuck in. Gonzales didn’t have much chance to shine, but was clearly fouled for their goal and then injured by the body slam, before having to go off. However, it was easy to see he knew what he was, where he was, and was very active.

Bernie was excellent again, but Savinho was MOTM for me and if he ever tidied up his final ball and shooting, he will be unstoppable.

Onwards…

The thing is, apart from that fuck up v Chelsea, he played alright after that.

Those fuck ups happen to pretty much all defenders at some point, his just happened to be minutes into his debut. Could be nerves, or could just be the shitty luck of making a mistake like anyone can and it being so soon into the debut.

Aside from that, he was alright and he was good day.

Known is a shit stain. Glad I no longer live in the UK and knowing my license fee goes towards paying that bellend.
It's legal to opt out of paying the fee.
It's easy, takes 2 minutes, the no. is on the back of the license.

Inform them that you're leaving the country, they even rebate any credit balance.

There are NO detection teams.

Do it...it's most liberating !!

Yes, it was during COVID and teams had to socially distance beforehand. No crowd but I remember buying a ticket to help out Cheltenham who were missing out on income from a prestigious tie. Didn’t we actually sell out the away end despite not being able to go?

You're probably right, I think the ref just pissed me off.
The ref was shocking.

Tackles that endanger opponents not given or carded.

2 clear penalties WHICH HE SAW waved away.

He gave the impression that he was always 'behind' the play.

Shocking, but will he be held to account ??

Nope. None of them were even properly mentioned by the commentators. For one of the pens didn’t CuntKeown actually say a City player fouled another City player?

Richie Wellens’ post match interview, absolute class about Pep, City and the owners a brilliant club and the owners have been great for east Manchester His dad is the only rag in a family all his uncles are City fans all credit to him

Thanks for that, what a great honest guy, should go far. Wish the Pep got those type of questions on his post match interviews, not the usual ‘gotcha’ questions.

Thanks for posting, very fair and decent. Nice to hear someone who appreciates KDB given the number on here who have written him off.

Love the way he batted away the leading question about City so desperate we had to bring on Kevin and Phil . Great responses
