TV Series

I watched the first two episodes of From last night.

Is it worth sticking with as it's started well or will it be another Lost?

I've seen it mentioned on here before but can't recall what people's thoughts were.

I’m another fan. Definitely worth watching. Although I normally like watching series like this after they’re all done and dusted, so you can watch it from beginning to end.

They’ve not even made series 4 yet and it’s not going to be ready until some time in 2026. So I imagine I’ll have to watch the whole thing all over again ahead of the that, to have a clue what’s going on.

The promising thing is, I’ve read that they’ve already got the ending of the whole thing planned. So it’s not going go be one of those shows that just ambles on and on until the viewing figures start to drop and they suddenly have to think of a way of wrapping it up.

Really? Could you explain the polar bear then?

Polar bears were brought to the Island by the DHARMA Initiative, who kept them in cages at the Hydra station, on Hydra Island. (The World of the Others) According to Pierre Chang, because polar bears possess keen memory and adaptability instincts, they were prime candidates for studies in electromagnetic research. After training at the Hydra and solving the cage fish biscuit puzzles, the bears were fitted with a tracking collar, tranquilized, and taken to the Orchid where they were put in the familiar cold climate of the Frozen wheel chamber to push the wheel and be transported through space time. (The New Man in Charge) Some of the polar bears survived the Purge, after which they were freed from their cages and swam to the main Island. (Access Granted) After the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 in 2004, survivors of the crash occasionally encountered and were threatened by the bears. Charlotte Lewis discovered the skeleton and tracking collar of one of the experimented polar bears in Tunisia, where the Exit was located, that same year./SPOILER]

4 episodes into disclaimer. Not my cup of tea at all, pretty much every character is annoying me.
I know what you mean. I felt exactly the same but stuck with it to the end. I’m not giving much away to say the whole thing rests on the last episode.

Just watched that Cassandra on Netflix. Really like the premise of it, an alternate 1960's where they create the first problematic AI smart house which is rediscovered in modern day. Enjoyed the first 5 episodes, the last episode though is just pathetic and ruined the entire thing completely.

Felt like somebody reasonably talented doing a creative writing exam for the first 5 episodes who lost track of time then they heard they've only got 10 minutes left to finish which leaves you with a totally unbelievable, plot hole ridden, rushed shitshow of a last episode just to make sure it's done.

Worth the watch for the scenes with the younger version of her in it alone.
There is that.

Started American Primeval on Netflix, no punches pulled. A chapter of American history I didn’t know about and what an eye opener this is, Mormons v The Government and the Native Americans caught in the crossfire.

Season 5 of Justified done.
One more season to go.

When you’ve done you’ll probably think - I can watch Justified: City Primeval now.

Unfortunately it’s crap. Just like the Dexter reboot was.

They fail to realise the reason we like these shows isn’t just for one person, it’s the support casts you get to know over multiple seasons.

Anyway, City Primeval is a 4/10 compared to the main series which as you know is top quality.

I didn't mind it to be honest.
They've left it wide open at the end of City Primeval if they want to carry it on

Finally got around to watching Afterlife. It didn't sound like my kind of thing but It's a great series. Some very funny characters and writing.
The psychiatrist is bizarre.

I can’t stop watching that outtake clip of the scene in the pub where they’re reeling off ‘the nonces’ other nicknames. Mainly ad-libbed apparently.

Must have watched it about 50 times.
