I love this club win or lose it doesn’t matter
Through my 50 years watching city i’ve seen it all made great friends traveled Europe and seen the best English team there’s ever been, let’s get behind the lads show them the love we feel for them , Sing Guardiola loud and proud this manager is the best in the world with us being the 12th man we can do this I truly believe come on CITY the love of my life

Ederson
Akanji Stones. Dias. Gvardiol

Kovacic. Gonzalez

KDB
Savinho. Foden

Haaland

Tempted to play Mamoush for Phil but he usually turns up against the facists

Just expecting a tough evening and a tough week. Madrid like last season, have learned from the 4-0 and will sit deep and hit on counter. Just do not see us having the energy and wherewithal to get the 2 or 3 goal lead needed going away. Can see this being 1-1 or 2-1, with us losing in Madrid, and ultimately going out. Sadly resting players against Newcastle and losing that game too.

Can’t beat a bit of optimism that’s the spirit !

I still shake my head in disbelief everytime I see bernardo"s name omitted from a starting 11 prediction in a big game. We don't have a single player in the squad that's performed in the biggest games like bernardo has.

It should be with no Rudiger and a makeshift centre half. He should be out bullying from the get go.
He can't bully anybody if the ball doesn't go in his direction

I’m scared, I genuinely feel this could be a battering if we ain’t careful and especially if we play like we did vs Arsenal and PSG. I just hope we get an early goal!

GK Ederson
RB Akanji
CB Stones
CB Dias
LB Gvardiol

It'd difficult to see how Real's pace won't cause City real problems. Mbappé, Vinícius and Rodrygo are exactly the type of player that City struggle against in transition.

But at the same time, City should be looking to expose their defense. This could be a high scoring game.

You won’t last in here with optimism pal
Look man, I just can't have a negative mindset on this, there’d be no point in watching football then. I absolutely hate the pessimistic attitude some people have on this forum, it’s insanely annoying. Like, why would I even sit down to watch the game if I thought we were shit and gonna lose anyway? That makes no sense. A fan should always stay positive and hope for the win. And honestly, why should we be scared of them? We’ve got quality players too. Yeah, we’ve been brutal shit this season, no denying that, but injuries have played a huge role. So we can still hope for the best.

I'm not optimistic at all. When we beat Madrid 4-0 at our place I felt we would beat them but never envisaged we would so comprehensively. Once we got the draw at their place last season I thought we'd finish the job at home and really we should have done. Their early goal took the momentum out of us for a while.

Now all our key players are older and showing it. They have their moments but the legs and energy have not surprisingly faded badly. We haven't had a settled defence all season and when our first choice defenders are out there they rarely finish the game together as one of them usually pulls up and has to be replaced. We can't keep clean sheets against bang average opposition so not surprisingly most of us are dreading facing the pace and power of Madrid's attack.

We also have a very slow midfield and upfront we miss too many decent chances. Our new signings will need time to adapt and have probably arrived too late to have a major impact this season.

Sorry to be so pessemist but we've all watched this season unfold before our eyes and keep on expecting us to turn a corner and click, sadly we haven't. Even if we took a 4-0 lead back to their place I wouldn't be confident given our collapse against Sporting, PSG and Arsenal.

I really hope we turn back the clock, everything clicks and all the luck goes our way and we smash them. I've said that about all our big games though this season but it just hasn't happened. Anyway fingers crossed!

City at home are a bit of a different beast to City away tbf. Spurs (ridiculously) are the only team to have given us a tonking at home in recent years. Suspect we could lose heavily next week, but tonight will be close imo.

I'm certainly more optimistic about this now we've got most of our players back (plus their defensive injuries). Just got to take our chances tonight.

As expected the day has, and continues to drag.

I think it’s time to watch us beat Inter Milan all over again. That’ll kill a couple of hours.

I can see City turning up for this and roaring into a 3-0 lead by the hour.

Then it will end 3-2, maybe.

When do you think you were last optimistic Paul? I’m that optimistic (some might say deluded) that I booked for the away game yesterday. A lot of players back tonight, some of you pessimistic people might even enjoy it. At least I know I will spend some if not all of the evening being optimistic. Like we used to be when we were shit

Have to play with energy tonight, need our best pressers out there against a makeshift back 4 and we have to go back to trying to dominate possession hopefully Gonzales helps with that.

----------------Ederson
Akanji--Stones--Dias--Gvardiol
----------------Gonzales
--------Foden--------De Bruyne
Bernardo----Haaland---Savinho

I know he's going to play Kovacic but not sure if that's at the expense of De Bruyne or Foden.

I wouldn't even be against seeing Grealish on the left, with Savinho right, no winger we have works harder than Grealish.
