Some of the performances this season aren't acceptable for where we are now.

We're not owned by wardle anymore and have beanie on the sidelines.
 
I'm so sorry. I really am, but Rico's involvement fucking killed us.

He came on and Real couldn't believe their fucking luck. Not the lad's fault that Pep brought him on and continued to play so open to the counter, so I'm not going to point at anything specific that he did wrong, but they targeted the lad because the percentages told them that even in 10?6 short minutes he was more likely than not going to be at the car crash looking shocked. And he was.

That's on Pep.

But then there's Ederson. Clearly lost his mind(?) I mean, can anybody see what he was trying to do that wasn't what happened? I fucking hate it when keepers cost us a game. Shitty position on the pitch not to have trust in.

Grealish injury is a kicker, lad was playing well. Gutted.

Too soon to pick it apart any more tonight.

Oh, and on a different note, VAR in Europe is as much a fucking joke as it is over here!
4 minutes to decide? Same with the pen. Lets all just stand around while the TV gets a chance to tell us all about the other matches tonight. Fuck off and go back to your original sales speech you gave when selling us the bollocks!
And getting a mad penalty every now and again for crazy handball interpretations doesn't even out the possibility that a pretty clearly 'level at worse' goal took so long and obviously had a huge chance of not standing.

Positives were Gvardiol had a great game and Stones played really well as the 6.

We’d have won that game if Akanji and Ake could have played the 90 mins.

Top 4 a challenge - its the purchases that worry me, you need physicality, grit pace pace pace today...we never seem to buy those players..Haaland aside..maybe Haaland was a good buy and I bemoaned his lack of touch... really improved and that was evident in cushioned finish and some are good hold up play...Stones surprisingly good game tonight, although father in law thought were fked with him in CM v RM..Bellingham, virtually non existent v very weak midfield..the guy is overrated i still think that
 
Shit, that.

We were OK for the last 25 minutes of the first half but other than that, we were dominated. How they only scored 3 is beyond me.

A comedy of errors from so many players. Kovacic’s fucking back heeled flick - just clear the fucking thing! Lewis should be cleaning Vinicius out as soon as he knew he wasn’t getting there. Ederson with another error - just a shock this time it was with his feet. Should he be palming their second goal out into the danger area too? Not so sure, personally. Shame because he was mint up until the error for the second goal and saved our arses a few times.

It’s just a massive concern how weak we are mentally whenever we concede. When they got their second, you knew a third was coming. There’s no composure (again, fucking Kovacic) and game management to spot danger and know when to clear and when to play.

Stones, Gvardiol, Savinho, Haaland, Foden, Akanji and Dias all played alright. Stones and Akanji being the stand outs, but other than that. Too many passengers. Again. Namely Bernie (was he on?) and Kev, unfortunately. Same old story.

I wouldn’t have been comfortable with a 2 goal lead going to their place, never mind a 1 goal deficit.

Shame. Onto the FA Cup and top 4 in my eyes. Not good enough this season to win this competition, too many teams better than us.
 
I actually thought Lewis did ok until Kovacic dropped him in it. Kovacic should have put the ball in row z so we could regroup.
At times in the first half we looked really good, and it was our own mistakes that let Madrid in. When we tried to force the game was when Madrid found the space.
But I just can't understand though why we are making the mistakes we are doing. The players have not learnt anything. It's not even funny anymore. Throwing games away like we have done. We were 2-1 up, arguably undeserved, but don't go bombing forward trying to get another goal. Just sit in and see the game out. Utter madness and unprofessional.

You do realise that what you’re considering unacceptable has never been achieved by any club ever though? Surely that must factor into tempering your position a little bit?

I think it's any pressure, we know we are pretty weak so we play like the ball's a hand grenade in those pressure situations...we look really really shit under any sort of pressure..even v Orient
