A lot of those players over the 2/3 windows will be more than adequate for the squad. However, players need to be moved on in the summer and replaced with absolute top notch at RB, GK, CM and AMF as a minimum.

We need 2 wingers that can score aswell.

Bernardo/Doku/Savinho/Grealish average 1 goal every 9 games. It’s killing us!! Doku/Savinho ok as 3rd/4th choice but not ready to start at the very top level of football…

We were OK for the last 25 minutes of the first half but other than that, we were dominated. How they only scored 3 is beyond me.

A comedy of errors from so many players. Kovacic’s fucking back heeled flick - just clear the fucking thing! Lewis should be cleaning Vinicius out as soon as he knew he wasn’t getting there. Ederson with another error - just a shock this time it was with his feet. Should he be palming their second goal out into the danger area too? Not so sure, personally.

Stones, Gvardiol, Savinho, Haaland, Foden, Akanji and Dias all played alright. Stones and Akanji being the stand outs, but other than that. Too many passengers. Again. Same old story.

I wouldn’t have been comfortable with a 2 goal lead going to their place, never mind a 1 goal deficit.

Shame. Onto the FA Cup and top 4 in my eyes. Not good enough this season to win this competition, too many teams better than us.

Give me a FA cup semi-final and CL football next season and I'll happily move on with my life.

I think you're over exaggerating mate. Yes we were poor in the second half, but every goal or pretty much chance they had we literally gave to them. I wouldn't say we were dominated. Don't get me wrong, I ain't defending that performance overall.

We should've tried harder for a right back when Walker went, it borders on stupidity not to have a back up in that position. We could have sacrificed the Gonzalez signing for a full back as that was more a priority in my eyes

Top 4 a challenge - its the purchases that worry me, you need physicality, grit pace pace pace today...we never see, to have those players..Haaland aside..maybe Haaland was a good buy and I bemoaned his lack of touch... really improved and that was evident in cushioned finish and some are good hold up play...Stones surprisingly good game tonight, although father in law thought were fked with him in CM v RM..Bellingham, virtually non existent v very weak midfield..the guy is overrated i still think that

Bellingham is a Fellaini type box crasher. He’s shite as a playmaker, but has the Lampard knack of when to load into the box.

These late goals are very irritating but indicative of the fact that this team that just doesn’t have the legs anymore. For large parts of the game we held our own.

Yes we bought in Jan but I suspect playing young lads in a flagging team v serial winners Madrid could ruin confidences.

I think with some good signings (right back, keeper, creative mid fielder) and better luck injury wise we will be challenging next season.

Thing is we should be going to Madrid with a goal lead. That would bring confidence to all the squad. Now Pep has to revive them for the weekend !

I actually thought Lewis did ok until Kovacic dropped him in it. Kovacic should have put the ball in row z so we could regroup.
At times in the first half we looked really good, and it was our own mistakes that let Madrid in. When we tried to force the game was when Madrid found the space.
But I just can't understand though why we are making the mistakes we are doing. The players have not learnt anything. It's not even funny anymore. Throwing games away like we have done. We were 2-1 up, arguably undeserved, but don't go bombing forward trying to get another goal. Just sit in and see the game out. Utter madness and unprofessional.

When Man City go 2-1 up you think to yourself, now just sit back a bit. Keep Real Madrid in front of you and hit them on the break.

If City dropped back 20 yards or so and gave Madrid the ball and let them have it at the back and in midfield, they couldn't hurt them.

It’s just a massive concern how weak we are mentally whenever we concede. When they got their second, you knew a third was coming. There’s no composure (again, fucking Kovacic) and game management to spot danger and know when to clear and when to play.

Been saying it for a long time, all these strong teams atm in europe are not relying on striker to score every goal.barca ,real, liverpool etc have great wingers who score and create a lot.

You do realise that what you’re considering unacceptable has never been achieved by any club ever though? Surely that must factor into tempering your position a little bit?

Not really mate..
I'll use Orient as an example..

They played well against us, as most teams do now.

Regardless of what we've achieved in the past even the whole of the second string with a few kids involved should be playing better then we are.

They players all seem a bit meh in their general play.

We all know what we've achieved and expected a drop off of some sorts but it's the manner in which it keeps happening.

I think Pep considered out..the contract saga stopped us buying properly..ended up fked..and rushed to buy youngsters in positions we don't need!
