Nobody has gone into hiding. They are struggling but no reason some can contribute next season with less minutes.I never said get rid of all over 30 players.
When the tough has got going this season, many have gone into hiding. Hows that working out for us so far, on course for the worst season under Pep?
Pep had zero issues with ripping out parts of other title winning teams, I hope he has the heart for it again.

Surely we can't go into next year with all 4 now becoming injury candidates. Even Ruben who would at least be the cornerstone for any partnership is picking up niggles.Don't see any of the CBs leaving tbh.

and if we don't have that many we cant rest any again, so i think we roll with them all. Next season will be as long as than this one with a shorter break.Surely we can't go into next year with all 4 now becoming injury candidates. Even Ruben who would at least be the cornerstone for any partnership is picking up niggles.
Dias, Stones, Khusanov, Reis as our CBs. Gvardiol and (hopefully) Doyle as LB options but both could also cover CB. I can`t really see us selling Akanji, but I don`t think he`s good enough to play CB, and if we sign another RB there shouldn`t be much room for him to play RB eitherDon't see any of the CBs leaving tbh.

If we see Dias, Rodri, Gvardiol, Nico, Foden, Marmoush, Savinho, Bobb and Haaland as the future, that’s 9 outfield players with probable others like Akanji, Doku, O’Reilly and maybe Stones that gives us a good starting point. Khusanov and Reis will hopefully be good options by the end of the season but it’s hard to know whether Pep will play them much in the run in.
A few huge issues-
Keeper, desperately need a successor to Ederson. Ortega hasn’t taken his opportunities this year at all.
Right back if he’s fit it’s probably Akanji but neither Nunes or Lewis cut it, perhaps either of the new lads will make it their own. Otherwise back to the market.
Midfield- will we look for a secondary DM or is that Nico? KDB will leave and replacing him directly is impossible but we must get a creative midfielder in. Gundogan will leave for Turkey or start coaching can’t see him playing much other than Pep’s loyalty towards him. Bernardo should go but Pep may fight to keep him but he’s been a shadow of himself this season. Grealish who knows. Nunes will probably be a Mendes special late in the window.
To have any chance of getting back to our best we have to recruit really well midfield. We haven’t brought a top class midfielder since Rodri, Nico might be but too soon to tell, but we have had a lot of misses- Nunes, Phillips, Gundogan (part 2) have all joined and flopped so this summer we have to buck that trend.

Doyle and Lewis being club trained/B List are free hits for me. (in my fantasy squad)Dias, Stones, Khusanov, Reis as our CBs. As much as I've enjoyed seeing Gvardiol at left back, I would now prefer to see both designated a right back and left back signed in the summer. I want a Pillars of Hercules combination.
The team that won the CL was

Stones Rodri
Bernardo Kev Gundo Grealish
Haaland
Of those the back 6 have all had plenty of injury problems.
But given a clean bill of health all are young enough to continue. In addition we now have Gvardiol, Khusanov and Reis.
You could make a case that all 4 of the midfielders behind Erling are now not fit for purpose. Kev and Gundo don't have age in their side whilst Bernie running a half marathon every match has left him a shadow.
Jack who knows.
What is noticeable is that 3 of them plus Rodri were able to keep the ball. We don't have that now as the players we've brought in Savinho, Doku and Marmoush are risk takers.
Put Phil another more direct player in midfield and we depart completely from that 2023 side. That's not necessarily a bad thing. We have Nico now to complement Rodri, and Stones could as he did last night play in midfield.
But what we need is the midfield magic that Kev and Gundo provided, past tense. It makes sense for them to leave in the summer and pursue Wirtz.

One thing, that team had no fullbacks. If we sign some we probably don't need 6 centre backs.

Wouldn’t get rid of AkanjiWill be an expensive summer no doubt. Hope to see some decent money coming in.
Ederson, McAtee, Akanji, Nunes and Grealish hopefully around 25m a piece roughly. Bernardo 20m, Ake 15m, Phillips 10m?, Kabore + JWE 10m altogether, Walker 4m, KDB and Gundo on a free. Perrone and Bah to go on loan for another 12 months. Could be looking at over 150m in sales. Stones and Kovacic to stay another 12 months as squad players
