Stop Crying Your Heart Out Rodri Banner

Yeah facts. We lost, Vini Jr said it inspired him and we're being laughed at on Twitter. It was hardly a succes.
Doubt very much it did. Easy to say after the event. More likely it pissed him off and he forgot about it the second the match started

No problem with the banner. It was an initiative by a very active group of fans, and as such it was a good bit of bantz. As for Vinicius saying it made him stronger, well that's one of those after-the-fact statements. If they'd lost, we could have said it destabilised him. Both statements would be bollocks.
The real classlessness was this detestable club boycotting a ceremony because they had decided in advance who the winner would be. I'm sure in Spain, where the winner of their league is pretty much decided in advance between two clubs, and two only (with the occasional crumb thrown to the other Madrid team), and that has been the case for decades, that mindset is firmly entrenched. Well, wake up, you people in Madrid — that's not how a competition works. It's definitional. A competition means there is competition.
I have come to truly loathe them. They were one of the clubs who were most vigorously hostile to us taking a seat at the top table. Well, we're here, and despite our poor showing both in Europe and the league this season, we're not fucking going anywhere…
Absolutely, if Ederson doesn't have is brainstorm the result would have been totally different, they were settling for 1-2 and not pressing at all. These after the event comments are just to feed the muppets.

You are mixing big club behaviour with big club fan behaviour. We’re not little city anymore!
We'll always be "lickle Citeh". Ask any Tarq, Dip or Rag and they'll confirm it.

;-).

Re the banner, I'm not sure what I made of it. It did look a bit cringey on the telly, to be honest; maybe it looked better in the stadium. 10/10 for effort, though.

Absolute bollocks it looked amazing grandad !

Where was his ballon d’or anyway? Oh yes he doesn’t have one . Oh dear poor boy and no surprise the number of times he was offside , dived and even got the ball nicked by Lewis !!! Come on this guy and bellend are frauds /
Time for the real City to turn up for a change and pull a surprise next week!

Probably. I think you have to separate the two events. We are shite at the minute I thought we might sneak a draw before the game but once they made it 2-2 I knew what was coming. The Rodri affair refers to the awesome contribution he made to Spain and City which predates this season. I think it was great to point out that little fucker as a cry baby. He was always likely to score against our shite defence and I am fairly certain that he will do so again next week. But fuck him if he does.

Oh my Lord, no way, not the droning brothers. They’ve only had a couple of decent ‘tunes’. Are we turning into a bloody Oasis fan club or what? Next thing they’ll be designing a kit and it’ll be crap looking;)
You can't criticise Oasis on here; that's sacrilege. I'll let it slide, this time. Because I'm a bloody decent chap. Do it again, though, and you'll be taking a break from here.

;-)

It made us look tinpot just like that "muppets" banner from the other year. Imagine being arrogant enough to take the piss out of one of the best players in the world who is inevitably going to win the Balon D'Or this year anyway.

Did Vini even have that good a game? Outstanding player but I thought he was pretty wasteful myself. Bad end product and only got an assist by spooning yet another shot

The banner was just a bit of fun while we could still have it. It was obvious that the media would make a big deal of it if we lost the game, but who really gives a fuck?

They should slideaway, no way should you acquiesce to that, its all part of the masterplan

The banner was great. If they needed a banner to get up for a knockout CL game against us then theyve got problems. Vinicius probably couldnt even understand it.

It's better than most English clubs do in the CL(unless I've missed any?) but City get judged by the top tifos in Europe standards somehow. Bit weird how they are so keenly aware of that now but not too long ago they were oblivious to the dreaded 'plastic flags' that are common at CL games across Europe. Especially scousers, who are supposed to be fountains of knowledge on 'CL nights under the floodlights la'.

I'd not pay any attention to the 'cringe' comments from outside, just twitter dwellers who are desperate to 'cook' City for absolutely anything.

Real behaved poorly as a club and the fans dug them out for it, with a simple banner(stfu Carragher btw it wasn't a big deal). If they'd have gone all out for a big elaborate one, they'd have said it was too much. It would become: 'They don't care about City and you paid all that for a tifo. So cringe'. Never try and please your haters either way, is the answer to it. This was something for City fans, Rodri and his team mates, not the likes of them.

You mean, imagine being arrogant enough to take the piss out of a complete prick who (supported by his shit house club) completely disrespected both Rodri, your club and the entire football community? If you want to criticise, criticise who you refer to as "one of the best players in the world" (which he actually isn't) and not your fellow blues.

Rodri loved the banner by all accounts and was seen taking photos of it. That's enough for me. Fuck Vinicius Jr, fuck Real Madrid and fuck anyone who thinks it's ok the way they carried on.

The banner had zero impact on the result or his performance, it's all propaganda, we lost the game because currently we are shite. Don't look for others to blame.
