Agree, I didn’t read the article just posted the headline. If we won last night Ronay would have found a different reason why it was a really bad thing.
Don't even have to read the article to know its a pile of shit.

The photo of Rodders would've been enough to send the message across. In the end, it fired up their players a bit and probably had an effect on the game.![]()
Anatomy of a Tifo: City’s Madrid jibe makes confused super club look small | Barney Ronay
The Rodri banner was a worrying sign for an organisation that is slightly losing its own strict and hugely impressive sense of orderwww.theguardian.com
Probably an awful article but you have to admit it wasn't a great banner. The photo of Rodders would've been enough to send the message across. In the end it fired up their players a bit and probably had an affect on the game.
I decided to bite the bullet and you're correct; it is indeed a pile of shit. He twice states that flags and banners don't matter at all, then spends 1,200 words telling us that they do.If we won last night Ronay would have found a different reason why it was a really bad thing.
Don't even have to read the article to know its a pile of shit.
If the banner annoys twats like Ronay it was worth doing. He represents everything bad about our media. A bad faith fraud who despises our club.If we won last night Ronay would have found a different reason why it was a really bad thing.

We’re even upsetting late Hungarian food critics now! Impressive. If we won last night Ronay would have found a different reason why it was a really bad thing.

Was thinking this myself. The banner was brilliant although I’m expecting to see one in Madrid from their fans in response.
It puzzles me no end. But the club appear to be in thrall to them for some reason. Ah well each to their own. :-)all well and good, but why FUCKING OASIS, this constant association with that band is nauseating
You're getting mixed up with the club and the fans. The club are constantly associating themselves with Oasis but 1894 aren't. I could be wrong but this might be the first time we've referenced an Oasis song title on one of our banners, and in the past we've used the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division, and New Order for our displays. For The Story Of The Blues display we even went down the East Lancs and used Pete Wylie/The Mighty Wah! as inspiration for that one.all well and good, but why FUCKING OASIS, this constant association with that band is nauseating

Because they're city fans just like you and I, and they were representing city when we were absolutely shite, they certainly didn't jump on the bandwagon when we started winning. They're also one of the most well known bands in the world, so why wouldn't the club want to associate with them as both fans and for marketing purposes.all well and good, but why FUCKING OASIS, this constant association with that band is nauseating

I get that many people don't like Oasis because they're deemed, pop culture, too mainstream, too played out, too annoying. But that's personal choice, ultimately I can't see any issue with the mutual friendship.
Also, some of these other Manchester bands people would prefer we associated with, literally have nothing to do with the club. Or worse still are united fans e.g. The SmithsAgreed and especially this year when its arguably one of the biggest reforms of recent modern times? Oasis will have City flags on stage around the world and there is no negative aspect of that as millions of people wanted the band back together.
Yep. Honestly it never ceases to amaze me what people are prepared to complain about. Talk about first World problems. I include myself in that but try to catch myself before hitting “post reply”Agreed and especially this year when its arguably one of the biggest reforms of recent modern times?
