Stop Crying Your Heart Out Rodri Banner

If we won last night Ronay would have found a different reason why it was a really bad thing.

Don't even have to read the article to know its a pile of shit.
Agree, I didn’t read the article just posted the headline.

Because I hate Carragher…

The very definition of “small time.”

Fuck me, what have we become in the era of social media and oneupmanship shithousery?

I'll never understand the logic of not taking the piss in case it comes back to bite you on the arse. If there is piss to be taken, it's your duty to take it.

Plus, this one didn't even bite us. The banner didn't say "We're going to tear you apart tonight, you whinging shithouses." It was a perfectly valid point, very well made.

I decided to bite the bullet and you're correct; it is indeed a pile of shit. He twice states that flags and banners don't matter at all, then spends 1,200 words telling us that they do.

It's just your standard Ronay hit piece, an opportunity to slag off City that can't possibly be missed. Not only would 95% of the content been the same had we won, it would have been the same even if there was no banner in the first place. In short, BRIAFC.

I doubt Ronany reads Bluemoon but it would be great for him to see these comments so he understands how many people view him.

all well and good, but why FUCKING OASIS, this constant association with that band is nauseating
You're getting mixed up with the club and the fans. The club are constantly associating themselves with Oasis but 1894 aren't. I could be wrong but this might be the first time we've referenced an Oasis song title on one of our banners, and in the past we've used the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division, and New Order for our displays. For The Story Of The Blues display we even went down the East Lancs and used Pete Wylie/The Mighty Wah! as inspiration for that one.

In any case, what other artist's song title would've been more appropriate for Tuesday night's banner?

Because they're city fans just like you and I, and they were representing city when we were absolutely shite, they certainly didn't jump on the bandwagon when we started winning. They're also one of the most well known bands in the world, so why wouldn't the club want to associate with them as both fans and for marketing purposes.

I get that many people don't like Oasis because they're deemed, pop culture, too mainstream, too played out, too annoying. But that's personal choice, ultimately I can't see any issue with the mutual friendship.

Agreed and especially this year when its arguably one of the biggest reforms of recent modern times? Oasis will have City flags on stage around the world and there is no negative aspect of that as millions of people wanted the band back together.

Also, some of these other Manchester bands people would prefer we associated with, literally have nothing to do with the club. Or worse still are united fans e.g. The Smiths

Yep. Honestly it never ceases to amaze me what people are prepared to complain about. Talk about first World problems. I include myself in that but try to catch myself before hitting “post reply”
