Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

I very much like the look of Khusanov. He looks like a proper defender. He had the most difficult start possible vs Chelsea and came through it. That alone would give me confidence.
Add in that he looked confident and assured against Orient. Which hints at impressive mental strength to go along with his other talents.

I’m really excited to see how he develops.

At least Grealish's injury doesn't sound too serious, may not make tomorrow, but hopefully ok for Madrid.

What is going on with our players??? They play a few minutes and are injured again, often for a long period of time. Even our new signing took one tackle twenty minutes into his debut that didn't look too heavy and is bloody injured. It's unprecedented.

Fatigue and generally lower fitness levels I would suggest. Our fitness levels certainly appear poor relative to our main rivals, hence the tendency for late collapses.

The fitness and conditioning teams received a lot of plaudits during the treble season, but this season's record appears particularly poor and I would expect a thorough investigation to occur at the end of the season.

Pep has more or less said that he's had to play players like Akanji and Ake when they are not fully fit. And they breakdown. I think we bought players in the Jan window including U20s because our squad was too thin and we were placing huge stress on the remaining players.

All these injuries makes you wonder if there’s a problem with the medical department at City.

I also think that because teams are running through us this season it’s causing our defenders to be all over the place, causing us to run more and put more tackles in. Just a thought!

Pep said Akanji's having surgery on Saturday so presumably the 8-10 weeks is from the surgeon. 10 weeks is the last Saturday in April so he should be back for the last 4-5 PL fixtures, plus whatever other comps we're still in and the CWC.

Or there is a link between games played and injuries. See Arsenal. We made life more difficult for ourselves by our small squad size. We have addressed that after the fact.

The same problems besetting Arsenal, Brighton, Spurs, Villa, the rags & Ipswich? Given that they've all had more total injuries than us this season? Or are you just chatting shite perhaps?
