City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

'A huge blow to the Premier League'

This decision is a huge blow to the Premier League and effectively it means their APT rules up to November 2024 were unenforceable.

Any club who had a case heard under their rules is now in a position where they could launch a damages claim.

One source has suggested this could make the Premier League – and effectively therefore its clubs – liable for tens of millions of pounds.

This will also put a focus on chief executive Richard Masters, who confirmed the changes in November despite being cautioned against implementing them by City and Aston Villa amongst others.

Just read Martins article. He is the only true football journalist out there.

BTW has anyone heard from that annoying Arsenal mouthpiece Martyn Zeigler yet? Nope. Thought not :-)
He’s (Martin) always took a step back and looked at the bigger picture.
He doesn’t follow the crowd or use clickbait headlines.
His pieces are always well thought out and well written.
Look at all these clowns finally now saying FFP/PSR is all about protecting clubs at the top.
He (and us) was saying it from day one.

Vote of no confidence in masters and PL incoming…….claims for multi millions also incoming….delaying Etihad deal has meant City couldn’t spend in the transfer window and there are financial consequences of that……oooh need to find a decent popcorn gif.

What are the actual ramifications of this?

Do any of the free shareholder loans get retrospectively acted on with the likes of dippers and arseshit?

Have the rags been found to have actually failed PSR and will their Covid and share dealing exemptions be declared illegal?

Do we just get to say I told you so or do we get significant financial compensation?

Given that

* City took up the cudgels on behalf of all the non-'Red Cartel' clubs against what are now proven to be illegal APT regulations ushered in by the Premier League after the Saudi takeover of Newcastle United, and

* Tomorrow's visitors to our gaff are the very same Newcastle United that had been targeted along with us

would it be in order for the Newcastle squad to form a guard of honour to applaud our lads onto the pitch, as a symbol of their and other clubs' grateful thanks for City having the cojones to stand up to and face down said 'Red Cartel'..? Just a thought..!
Their fans are more likely to sing about empty seats

I think actually for the rags its good news because the very heavy boot on their neck which is causing scruffy jim to sack staff left right and centre is actually very illegal

That’s what I was thinking. Come on the same day they’ve said they can’t afford fuck all. I want to know what’s in it for us - we’ve gone out on a limb for years, is there any actual payback?
