Rag rang up TalkShite tonight and was full on in tears over the situation...the heart bleeds
I was out in the car with my 11 year old lad, when the rag caller started crying me and my son looked at one another and pissed ourselves laughing, it was a truly wonderful moment between us hahaha

they do seem to be fucked for next season...

less league income from this season than most likely was projected.

stuck with a whole host of overpaid players who nobody will want to pay decent money for.

unless by some miracle (or bent refereeing) they qualify for european football you'd have to think their sponsors won't need to cough up as much.

and any new sponsorship deals will surely be nowhere near enough to refloat their sinking ship.

how long can they afford to keep sacking managers and replacing them with even more mediocre ones.

which highly-skilled senior management candidates capable of having any impact on the decline would be foolish enough to go there right now.

you'd also think the glaziers will continue to bleed them, with zero intentions of selling up to anyone who could actually turn their fortunes around.

catweazle is doing his utmost to make things worse, bless him.

presumably they could increase their ever-increasing debts to fund more player purchases but which top-notch ones would even consider signing for 'em any more.

i personally know a bloke in his late 60s and his 3 sons in their 40s who have been lifelong season ticket holders but are sacking it off from next year because matchdays are ruining their lives emotionally and financially.
there must be others doing likewise
and who in their right minds are going to replace them.
long gone are the days when swamp tickets were like gold dust with a 7yr waiting list.

young children globally nowadays in search of a team to begin to follow don't give flying fuck about the long gone glory years,
they want to support a club who are worth watching,
so, unless they already come from rag-supporting families, where are the next generation of fans going to come from as the current crop either die off or fuck off.

sadly there are worse teams than them this year and it's unlikely they'll go down,
but if the 3 newly-promoted teams next year give a good fist of it and the rags have a poor start to the campaign then maybe just maybe our dreams might come true,
because their heads are already down and no other teams fear them any more.
when your backs are against the wall you need leaders on the pitch and in the dressing room but it appears they have none of those either,
and as many of us remember only too well,
when a badly-run club goes down it takes an awfully long time to resurface.

we are very fortunate to witnessing this karma,
because that's what it is.
they brought this on themselves.
it's a joy to see their ex-player pundits visibly hurting inside, resigned to the fact there is no hope whatsoever on the horizon.

what's great too is being able to recognise a rag fan from a mile off now,
because they've had that everpresent smug smile wiped off their ugly face.

but best of all is that their distress is compounded to the nth degree by our success.
it's ripping them apart and boy do they deserve it.

You need to have a word with your mate, what a mard arse , sacking it off because its ruining him emotionally!, good job he wasn't a blue in the 90s!

They don't learn do they? Not saying Diallo is a bad player (I'm not saying that) but like Macheda and JizzJazz and even just effin a few months ago Garnacho! were all hailed as the next Rooney.
To put it into perspective, Diallo is their top scorer with 6 league goals. Foden, who has been in and out of the team, and had an appalling season up until a few weeks ago (stat wise) has 7.

Our left back has 5

Their next top scorer is Rashford on 4 (the same as Kovacic)

Garnacho and Zirkzee have 3 each, the same as Marmoush who has played 3 games and scored in one of them

Hojlund has 2, the same as John Stones and McAtee

and there lies the difference between them and us.

Hmm.

We've accumulated a lot of fans over the last decade or so.

I can't help wondering how committed they will be if things go tits up long term.
If some of the match thread commentators are an indicator,I wouldn't be over confident.

i meant the difference between us older fans but i take your point.

it won't stop me smiling this morning though.

Another myth
Going back to our first Premier League title win in 2012, and at a sports club my kids used to attend, I was talking to a united supporter (actually a really nice bloke) and he told me that he'd seen that the waiting list at old toilet was several years for a season ticket, so with that in mind, he looked at the ages of his kids, thought "oh that's something for me to do, when the kids no longer need ferrying around" so he put his name on the season ticket waiting list
2 weeks later he received a phone call offering him a season ticket for the following season

It’s funny to read those stats, but the truth is mate there are no comparisons at all, an absolute world away these bellends are from us, have been for years and will be for years to come

that waiting list has always been a myth used by those who wanted to say they supported em but not actually commit any money or time to doing so, they were proper reds (and theres millions of em) right up until the time that it actually meant doing anything to support the club apart from chatting shit.

What I don’t understand is that when Ratcliffe came in, the story was he was taking 27% and would run the football operations. United fans rejoiced. They had someone other than the boogie man Glazers in to chase success on the pitch.

So, why is Ratcliffe making decisions on making back room staff redundant? How is that football related?

Who is making the decisions? Who is executing them?

I think we know.

It’s delicious

And the best part is they’re a million miles from us even this season when we have been (by our standards) pretty shit

If they’re in the shit the rules be changed to help them we all know the script by now

Its a weird one how bad they are, if you try and look at it without bias, most of their players that they have brought in are good players, I still like Hojlund (or however you spell it), that Uruguayan is good, De Ligt was a hot property at one time, Martinez had a good reputation, we were after Slabhead, Dalot is the portuguese right back etc.. Even their managers had good reputations before they arrived. The investment into the football team and "level" of the players brought in does not add up to how bad they are (which is dead funny). There has to be something in the background that is undermining what the football side are doing. Is it Slur Alex? Is it the amount or air time ex-players get? Is it that they believe that they have a divine right to (incorrectly so) to be near the top? Whatever it is, they are nowhere near fixing it and as others have said, next season, if they don't win anything this year (still in FA and Euro Cup and could easily get help to spawn a win), with the PSR issues they are close to this year, lack of any saleable assets (other than the young Argie and Mainoo) they are going to be in a right mess. Who would go there other than for more money? How do they get rid of the underperforming dross? I can't see it fully, but it could be a dog fight for them next year (I think they have too many points this year above the bottom 3 and the bottom 3 are not likely to win 20 more points this season). Long may it continue!
