Cheers clear as muudA and Å is pronounced differently phonetically and is obviously 2 different letters in the norwegian alphabet.
It is a good question though, the "Aa" is supposed to represent the "Å" sound (which is impossible to describe here, better just googling clips of it) but internationally it just seems to get pronounced as an "A" anyway so he would be better of as Haland. But the "Aa" is also used instead of the Å in norwegian language historically, and quite often in names still. But it is always pronounced as "Å"
It is the same with Martin Ødegaard. In England he is called Odegaard phonetically, but the real prononciation isnt an O but a different sound, and his two "Aa"' is obviously a "Å". Ødegård. Except that the "Å" sound in his name is written "Aa" in Norway as well, which is a more historic way to use it, using the "Å" is a bit more modern.
For those old enough to remember our player from back in the day, Kaare Ingebrigtsen, he was the same. Always written as Kåre Ingebrigtsen in Norway
Not really important though. Languages and names are very hard unless you are familiar with the language. But it is their real name though :)
Å to me is like oar, boar, phoarr, ore, sore, lore, core, chore, war, or, whoreCheers clear as muud
Yeah I guess I could have found some English words as an example to be fair, I'm not so bright lol. Ø is like the U in "mud" as you refer to. Å is like how you pronounce "hall" or "wall". So to pronounce Haaland correctly would just be to say the word "hall" and finish strongly with a "-land".Cheers clear as muud
Spot onÅ to me is like oar, boar, phoarr, ore, sore, lore, core, chore, war, or, whore
But I learned the Swedish version of å rather than the Norwegian one.

If I had a top ten then you just mentioned 3 of then.Joe is still on my favourites list but below John. Top of the list is Dunnie Monster! :-)
I don’t go for age I go for personality, football prowess and loyalty. ;-)
Last night on MOTD Joe was waxing lyrical about Eddie and was extremely fair and loyal. :-)
But you see they all play(ed) for MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD!!
Yes but he is too old to sustain it.Its amazing what a good performance and win can do.
I'm starting to think don't need as such a big clear out now after Saturday
Being serious though, Gundogan looked much better with a proper DM alongside him, as did all of the team
Agree and I was getting peeved with Michael Brown on co comms Sky game of the Day Saturday (8pm) when he kept saying the same. They weren't gash at all, just the Boyz were better. They weren't shite though.
We completely negated any threat they had, and there wasn't much they could do about it.
